The size of the 3 defensemen is certainly intriguing.

Cole had a great season on the Rock, earning the following: • NLU18MHL Champion • NLU18MHL Top Defenseman • U18 Atlantics Top Defenseman#DefendTheDen #ReturnOfTheRoar

Another free agent added: Isaiah Parent
2005 born from the Lac St Louis program. Undrafted for a 2nd year which is shocking. HockeyProspect.com had him ranked 140th in their final rankings.

Next years lineup looks crowded up front...
Barbashev(19) /Labelle(20)/Beaudoin(20) Loshing(18)/Taibel(18)/Mercier(17) Daniel(19)/Mueller(18)/Auger(18) Cloutier(19)/Pavan(19)/Casey(18)
12 returning guys and you still have Smith(16), Lounsbury(17), Sarrasin(17), McPhee(17) and some other for sure surprises at camp next month that will lobby consideration.

I think they will clear room for MacPhee Lounsbury and Smith(assuming he reports)...I could see two of Daniel Pavan and Cloutier moving...

I don’t think you can justify having 2 19 year olds playing fourth line on a mid-pack team. I assume that Daniel is likely the one that they would keep out of those 3 - partially because he’s a local kid. I assume Lounsbury definitely has a spot, and maybe Gabe Smith if he wants it although going back and dominating might be a better decision. While I think it is unlikely he stays, Gavin Cornforth likely has a spot too if he wants it. Training camp will definitely be interesting. I think the defence will likely be a competition for the last 2 spots with Darcy, Dollemont and the free agents fighting for them. Backup goalie is anyone’s guess

I wasn't suggesting Cloutier & Pavan were necessarily 4th liners but I get your point. Local kids help sell tickets so that works in Daniel's favor and he has proven he can play up and down the line-up. Casey was plagued with injuries last season so tough to evaluate where he fits in.

True, I think they could likely get the best return out of him though.

Yeah, I assumed it wasn’t the projected lines, but when you list it out like that I think it would be hard to justify moving them up much. Maybe drop Mercier, Mueller or Taibel but I’d rather see them give those guys more of a chance. Overall, I just think 4 19 year old forwards (6 forwards being 19 or 20) is too many for a year where they aren’t expected to be a top team.

I would be shocked if he goes back to U18. Skating needs work but better off to get adjusted to the speed and work with someone in Moncton. His line was very noticeable in yesterdays game.
