Shawinigan has a strong team but they play the hell out of their top line. Their goaltender is every bit as good as Frankie I think their D is weaker but they have some legit snipers. I still think the Isles can win it they just have to play Hulton hockey

So will this be a 2-2-1-1-1 series or a 2-3-2?

You guys have the better D-Core and goaltending, and both will be huge factors in winning. You guys may not have a Bolduc or a Bourque/Bourgault, but still having a strong forward core with an edge on D and in nets compared to both Quebec/Shawinigan, I think you's take it. somebody who knows the teams better can maybe answer this but are Quebec or Shawinigan deeper up front then say Sherbrooke were? reason being our great depth on D was somewhat neutralized in the last series because Sherbrooke relied so heavily on their top lines that we essentially played only 4 D for the most part..... outside of Roy and Parent Sherbrooke didn't really have all that much secondary scoring aside from Anctil. Shawinigan arguably has a little bit more depth, they have an insane first line of Bourgault/Bourque/Nadeau, but they also get scoring from Dube so they have 4 threats instead of 2 like Sherbrooke. However, it does fall off hard after that and their main point getters are their D-men in Tourigny/Has/Massicotte. you guys have Guay/Simoneau/Budgell/Roy/Brabanec/Stairs, not to mention Gallant and Elliot can be threats at times. Comebine those guys with that D core and there's a lot more for Shawinigan to cover. But you guys have the overall leverage on D and in net but the forward group just depends how you look at it, Budgell/Guay/Simoneau are not the same names and prospect types as Bourgault/Bourque/Nadeau but they've been just as good. So in the end I think we see another Maritime champion Shutting down Shawinigan's big 3 will be key for sure. If anything Quebec had the deeper team but Shawinigan had the stronger top guns.

Last night, I thought Quebec pushed the play more, especially in the 3rd period, but Shawinigan was more opportunistic. I think that the Islanders top 6 are more 200 foot players than Shawinigans are. Add in the physcal Elliot-Gallant-Boyd line, who will just chase you down until you make a mistake, and I like our chances. I'd love to see them win it on home ice, but then again, I just want to see them win it. I think it will be Islanders in 6

Obviously this entire team wants this Championship....BAD.
Hulton WILL have this team ready......he REALLY wants to win. More then anything.
And expect Budgell to really step up his game even more... and leave it all on the ice. This kid is driven for a Championship and now that he has this chance, I believe he will be at his all time best!
Budgell Simoneau Guay Cormier Laaouan Gallant Roy Lepenna Brabenec
These guys are all going to raise their game...100%%...and I really see this team playing in SJ.
Let's go Isle!!!!
