That’s the guy! Isn't Matt Hicks the guy who tore the logo right out of the ice leaving like a 1/2 inch rut few years back? He's building quite the legacy. You guys can come back from this. You're the better team.

Loved coach hultons responses in the pist game presser
Whats done is done lets use it as a rallying point
Simply put we need to pull ahead early and stay out if the box and the rest will take care of itself
Talk of bribes is foolishness be better than tgat. Thankful this is a best if 7 go get game 3 and ensure another contest at home

The league should fire Hicks for the simple fact the douchebag refers to himself as Hollywood.
It really must be nice to have that level of job security that you can be that terrible and continuously hold onto that job.

In the end, bad call or not, there's no guarantee that Shawinigan doesn't score with the goalie pulled. Bottom line is that the Islanders need to find a way to get past this adversity. They need to be aware when Bourque and Bourgault are on the ice, and make sure that they aren't left open (as happened in OT)
There are too many times when the forwards come in, and instead of shooting and crashing the net, they try to make a play to the guy in the middle. Shawinigan's defence is big and mobile, and do a good job of blocking lanes.
While some may think this series is over, we all know that things can change quickly in a series.

We're a great road team, and all that call should do is light a fire under them. The best way to get back at Hicks is to go win the series. I'm amazed at how unprofessional the French media is though. Their reporters telling us to "stay mad". I kinda hope they get screwed over on a bad call and we'll see who stays mad.

A lot less of a chance when its 6 on 5 opposed to 6 on 4, Legit call or not it was a BS call considering the shit they didn't call vs Sha during that third period, Budgell got hauled down right in front of the ref no call a couple min later the whistle went and a Sha player came and hit him as he was going by the boards no call fine but don't make bs call like that where it had no effect on the game the faceoff was at center ice. I have no doubt the Islanders can come back honestly Sha isn't all that great with the puck it is there time with out the puck we have to focus on and start generating more opportunities Anyways time to move on and take 2 games in Sha. Go Isles Go

The QMJHL rule reads: A minor penalty shall be assessed for delay of game - face off violation to a player taking the face off who: (i) Attempts to win the face-off by batting the puck with their hand NOTE: The two players involved in the actual face-off (the centers) are not permitted to play the puck with their hand without incurring a penalty under this rule until such time as a third player (from either team) has at least touched the puck. Once the face-off is deemed complete (and a winner of the face-off is clear) hand passes shall be enforced as per Rule 79 Hand Pass. Check the faceoff after the tying goal with 6 seconds left. Shawinigan player makes the same play using his hand....but Hivls waves it off....its a joke

Of course not. The league and almost all of the Quebec media and fans (except Lalancette) are ignoring it and acting like it was a normal ending and Shawinigan deserved the win

Hicks loves the spotlight, a bit too much I might add. I know most of the local guys and he is known for seeking to "stand out" instead of letting players decide the game.
The timing of it to me is awful, when you get to that stage of the game as a ref(caveat: I have not done high level hockey but all levels of minor hockey, finals add tournament finals), you let the players decide unless it's a blatant call, involves a scoring chance or dangerous play that could lead to injury. In the d-zone, d-man gets beat and trips a guy who is going in on the goalie, no problem with that call, because by NOT calling it you're deciding the game(or could be).

Use it as a rallying point this team is certainly good enough to be coming back for game 5 even. I have full confidence in this group hopefully the hockey gods are on their side

Nothing worth having comes easy
brutal call.... unnecessary call..... but not the reason we are down 2-0
our pp and pk needs to be a helluva lot better..... our guys need to be smarter with the puck..... we were alot better last night than what I saw in game 1 but still not at the level we are capable of
and Lapenna flat out has to prove why Hulton acquired him..... not playing bad but being badly outplayed.....
thru two games we are 1 for 8 on the PP they are 5 for 7

On a positive note, the Isles have a great record in Quebec this season.
10-1-1 regular season and 2-0 in the playoffs.
Also, the Boyd, Gallant, Elliot line was a force last night. They have to keep their strong play going into Shaw.....

Lost in the mess, but what a shot from Dube to tie it up. One chance to tie it, two defenders and a goaltender infront of him and he still puts it underneath the bar. Broke all of our hearts, but man, what a shot.

What's done is done....need to buckle down now and win a pair up there. It's a tall order, but I am confident they can pull it off!!
