There are two things I don’t understand… - Shawinigan makes the same play every time, so wouldn’t the Coach of the year see this and make sure the players know what to do? - Why are the Islanders scared to hit anyone? I mean they mauled Sherbrooke in Game 1 of that series and since then have looked very scared. They're clearly aware of how much Shawi's PP has killed them in this series, so they're scared to take a penalty for a questionable hit or something that decision has to be made in game 1 to play on the edge or not. They do respect Shawinigan PP a little too much. They are getting penalties anyway. Chincy penalties which leave no fatigue on the other team. If they played their game to win and imprint their style on the series from the start it would be different. If they lost here and there because of it it would very worst be a long series. Play the way they are it's a sweep and they can't reverse it. Also if they played physical from the start (if they can) the bar for what is a penalty slowly goes up. Refs can't call everything and don't in those types of games. It turns out to draw penalties out of the other team. Right now what we have is underwhelming. Respect the opponent to a point but right now they are too scared to play their game.

It can happen at any time…..but you can’t let it happen at a time like that.
Sorry end to that game.

They need to pretty must shut down 2 players but they can’t seem to do that, they are not physical on them at all allowing them all the time and space. It was a great season we made it to the final. But there is no way we are coming out of this hole .

Unfortunately this game had nothing to do with bad breaks: Shawinigan was the better team. The Islanders really only have 2 players to worry about and Boutique and Bourgault are having their way with us right now. I’ll never say we’re out until the final buzzer sounds in the elimination game, but it’s all uphill from here.

I wish I could say we have a chance but if I said thatd I’d be lying I really think it’s over tomorrow night I hope the boys go out and prove me wrong but I just think the tank is running out and they met a team hitting their stride at the right time. If I’m fact they lose it’s been a hell of a fucking ride.

But we needed Lapenna to make some big saves and early on he couldn't make any.

See I know Frankie hasn’t made the big save but the shots that are going in are pure snipes or players left alone. The D core and forwards are playing complete bullshit in front of him. If it was Satny in net would the outcome be any different I really think we’d still be down 3-0

Not gonna pile on here its not the time
Bottomline we were built from the net out and 2-3 players are killing us while our goalie is as mentioned earlier the third best goalie in the series
Time to throw balls to the wall load up the top line and take our chances. Stairs does nothing on that line … time for Hulton to earn his coach of the year award and adjust here
We can still make a series out of this we have had the majority of the play 5 on 5

The Islanders might have 36 shots but 12 of those were dangerous shots.
Cataractes have 13 dangerous shots on 21 total. Shawinigan has been better at creating chances.

As an impartial fan, I wouldn't throw in the towel yet. 2 of the 3 losses were in OT. While Shawinigan has won all 3 games, they certainly haven't dominated all 3 games.
Odds aren't great but it's not over. Win the next one and Shawinigan might get a little nervous. Win the next 2 and they probably get very nervous while the Isles gain some momentum.

I see a massive comeback by the Islanders. One game at a time guys. You can do it!! Please don't make me cheer for the Sea Dogs.

After game 1 I would’ve had Guay-Simoneau-Budgell all together and let them do there thing I also would’ve had Plandowski back with Trudeau.. the paid or Trudeau and Biakabatuka is just plain bad right now. Bois I am in the same boat as you on Stairs he scored one goal significance but he does the bare minimum most times out there. Hopefully they take the 1 game at a time approach and make it interesting

Also completely off topic from the game but man oh man the Shawinigan fans are a very classless bunch of people reading the comments in the Islanders Facebook page is just plain ignorant.
