It's hard to believe that training camp is starting up in just a few weeks. It'll be nice to get back to the rink and watch the rebuild. Hopefully this one ends with us lifting the elusive President's Cup and Memorial Cup.

Hunter Bruce (2005 F), Billy Kollias (2005 F), and William Scott (2005 D) added to the free agent invite list.
An interesting one, Carter Murchison has been added to our list. He has played a couple of games with Rouyn the past two years, last year he finished with the Caps and was a pretty decent player for them. I guess they didn’t protect him, or we would have to compensate them if he ended up making the team.

I think he left last year looking for a trade, played in Summerside for most of the year after spending his 16 YO season in Rouyn. He’s a kid who was rushed to the league as a 16 and has suffered because of it, may find a diamond in the rough though. |

Here's some info on the latest additions:
Hunter Bruce is a 5'11 180 lb forward. He played last season with the Cole Harbour U18 program. He's a 2005 birthday and Yarmouth owns his Jr. A rights. Last season he scored 14-21-35 in 34 games.
Billy Kollias is a 5'11" 170 lb forward. He played last season with the Lac-St-Louis U18 program. He's a 2005 born. Last season Kollias scored 9-5-14 in 36 games.
William Scott is a 5'10" 187 lb defenceman from St. John's. Last season he played with St. Andrew's College prep. In 15 games he scored 0-4-4.
As for Carter Murchison, he's an interesting add. I expect he's attending camp on a loan and if he makes our team we work out a deal with Rouyn-Noranda to acquire his rights. Murchison was good enough to crack Rouyn-Noranda's roster as a 16 y/o during the shortened 20-21 season. He was a 3rd round pick. Last year, his 17 y/o season, he ended up in Summerside playing Jr. A with the Caps where he scored 2-2-4 in 18 games.

Thanks for sharing that piece. Another FA coming to camp thanks to JH. Sounds like hard working player. Another piece of the article that caught my eye: Robbie Rutledge will be playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League this season after signing with the Charlottetown Islanders. So if he had already signed....does he have a spot already? |

Defenceman Alexandre Tessier, who played with the Mooseheads the past two seasons now appears on our training camp list.
There’s been no announced trade, so this is probably like the Murchison situation with Rouyn-Noranda.
Tessier is 19 and 5’11” and 178 lb. He had 8 assists in 59 games last season.

That being said I dont think he makes the Mooseheads team with all the other pieces they have this year. They have 8 D that should make the team without question. |

Tessier will bring a nice physical presence as well as stability. He's a good fit for CHA, if he makes the team, which would surprise me if he doesn't.

Tessier is just caught in a numbers game at Halifax. When Halifax took a defencemen in the first round and in the euro draft the writing was on the wall for Tessier. Nothing against him he’s actually pretty good. I was thinking he’d end up on the 19yo wavier list before the season and a perfect player to be picked up by PEI or SJ. It wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up being a 20yo for you guys next year too.
