Yeah I get that but overall this organization is a mess right now.. if Austin isn’t injured that looks really bad on Hulton. I think Jim has done an impeccable job since taking over here besides that last 6 months since that draft a lot of His moves have been poor. But obviously going to give him the benefit of the doubt They didn’t give him a reason and he says he was healthy. He had interest from OHL teams but the time limit to add players on Monday was at noon. Islanders told him he was released at 3 pm. Until we hear Hultons side that is complete bushleague when your a rebuilding team. Austin was fine for what we needed. For the rest of the year this just has potential to bring a negative vibe for players they try and recruit

this just has potential to bring a negative vibe for players they try and recruit Seriously? Maybe they didn't think he was solid in goal? He never looked confident in the net. The only time he had a SV% over .900 in the CHL was with a talented Gatineau squad. If they didn't think he would have helped this team.....add a FA. Which they did. Will the new one be any better......who knows.....but I personally feel, as I said, he really never looked overly confident in goal here and always looked nervous. That's just my own opinion. |

Yea I get what your saying Score but it’s not like we’re going for a playoff run the team is terrible. If they weren’t confident with him why even take him from Gatineau now both players that we got for arguably our best asset have been released that’s some Serge Savard Jr. management not what we’re used to seeing from Hulton

It’s not house league. Tough decisions are made. I have no info about character or conduct of any of the players…..but Hulton has had a great record of keeping character players in our room. If he sees fit to walk some guys, until I hear otherwise I’ll trust his judgement.
For those looking for the full story, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. The team will not come out in the media and say a player “wasn’t good enough” or was “poor character”. Things don’t happen that way. If our GM said things like that in the media, then we would be a sketchy organization…..
And a wise decision on his end to ignore the call from the French media. Why put yourself in a tough spot answering questions in French as an Anglophone when dealing with a sensitive situation.
The French media did not give a shit about our team when we were class of the league for two years….why the hell are they getting after us now when we are in the basement?

The journalist is writing a story about a local player, not about the Islanders. And living in Ontario, I'm sure he speaks english. |

But Hulton would have to either respond to the Quebec based reporter in French ….and I think he is 100% Anglo….or respond in English and have the reporter translate as he sees fit….less than ideal on either count.
I supposed that maybe Guy Girouard would be the guy for the reporter to talk to, but of course the media would be less interested in talking to the assistant GM compared to CHL and QMJHL coach of the year.

The timing just seems bad. He was denied a chance of catching on with another team coz the team released him at the last possible minute. The team could have been a bit more respectful |

At first I just thought it was a couple bad moves, but this year has been a disaster with starting the rebuild. I'm definitely getting nervous for the future of this team, but I'm not at the panic button stage yet. |

People do speak English in Quebec. Some speak it better than you. Making it a language issue makes your post seem bigoted. Btw I am from Quebec and I speak English quite well thank you. |
