Saint John acquired Jared Cosman and the 64th overall pick from Rouyn. Thomas Couture goes to the Huskies.

for
Marshall Lessard 2022 Rd 3 2024 Rd 6

That looks like a tough one to swallow… I am still trying to figure out what they will do with Lessard( keep him or trade)I heard Lessard had a bad knee most of last season.

I like Lessard but that is a lot for a guy that ended up being a depth guy. Drapeau will be one of the best D-men in the league at 19. Best of luck to him and Couture.

Mem cup or not this has to be one of Trevor's worst trades Drapeau is a A prospect worth at least 2 high assets on his own this is just brutal.

I'm not a tg hater but who trades a first plus one the best young dman in the league for a injury prone bottom six forward. Has to be more to it.

I suspect there were some conditions tied to that trade hence why so many picks involved. Such as number of games played and winning the Memorial Cup. Drapeau was likely gone either way but had certain conditions not been met, maybe some better picks come back. Otherwise if this was going to be the trade no matter what, then this is absolutely awful.

Remember we had 16 2002's on our final roster at year end so they have to go somewhere.

Wow we can't even get a first back that's two trades tg got fleeced. Can't wait to see the rest of the Moncton deal.

I was hoping for some better picks returning seeing as we have no high draft picks the next 3 drafts but it didn’t happen. At least we have a championship to look back on to help ease the pain of the next rebuild.

Yes the mem cup is great enjoyed the hockey the last two weeks but would someone please explain the drapeau trade because as it sits it has to be one of the worst trades we ever made.

I believe Lessard’s production was impacted by a knee injury that lasted most of this season. I hope we can get a decent return for him.

Here's who remains from the Mem Cup roster after today's moves (not actual lines, just easier to read that way):
Forwards: Burns - MacDonald - Reynolds Bezeau - Trenholm - Lessard LaForge
Defence: Desroches - Despont Gartley - Welsh
Goalies: Hurtubise - Patenaude
