Freddy market would be saturated. Jr. A & USport already are not drawing great currently, they'd likely have to play out of the Willie on the north side so not great... no way the Aitken Centre has availability.

Crazy talk here, but do you guys think Fredericton would be more viable than Bathurst? I’m going to throw a place out there that I’m surprised has never been talked about. Truro. They have a fairly new arena that sits 5000ish (not sure on the exact number). It’s really close to Halifax I know but travel wise it makes sense when Quebec teams come to the maritimes. 1 hour from Halifax, 2 hours from Moncton, 2.5 hours from Charlottetown and is the obvious stop before any game to or from Cape Breton. I think they can draw crowds it just who would own it? Truro is a perfect fit in terms of location/rink/town but unless the Bearcats leave, don't see it as possible to support Jr. A/Major Junior. The arena I think is 3100 for hockey but beautiful... it would actually be a wicked setup from a players/coaches/hockey ops perspective for a small market Major Junior team. Checked their attendance (Jr. A), between 1000-1200 in playoffs & between 800-1000 for regular season weekend games, 500-700 weekday nights. I feel the Q could attract a few more fans, but still a tough number to increase significantly. Would need to be a lot of community buy-in for a town of 13k. Tough to draw on surrounding areas of Pictou & Amherst Jr. A too. Would come down to also moving the Bearcats, which opens up a whole new conversation that I am curious if anyone would go for.

Truro has basically the same population as Bathurst. I really don't see any way that move would happen.
My personal hope is to see a team move to the US someday, I've given up on Fredericton.

With all due respect, the rink in Truro isn't that nice, either. Yes, it's almost brand-new but the way it was set up was... not great. The rink shares ventilation with the pool which means you're risking fog until the coldest days of the year.

This may not be a popular thought, but what about the possibility of a move to Edmundston? Arena is beautiful, arguably the best run team in Jr. A, higher population, close to the Quebec border, not saying it's likely but saying it's an option.

Arena is beautiful, arguably the best run team in Jr. A, higher population, close to the Quebec border, not saying it's likely but saying it's an option. People have suggested it for years. We have small Q markets with bigger rinks and population who can barely survive a Q cycle. How can a Jr. A market, rink, population base survive a Q cycle? It works under the most perfect of situations as a short term gap in the event of a disaster but you don't go there with any more chance of success of any market that currently has a team.

I figured the league wouldn't go back there because it was such a failure. If it's true good luck to the team moving forward. I feel the move out of bathurst is inevitable. Won't happen this season but if they announce it the team is losing the fan base that's left.

If it is announced officially before the end of the season, I hope that building gets sold out every night. They have an exciting, fast team this year and it's a shame to see them go. Mem cup champs not long ago too. I'll have to come to Bathurst to see a game before the end of the season though, still haven't been.

what I wanted to say this guy isn't even a journalist and what are his sources, but then I saw this poll posted on the **English** Q page: Putting aside that this is an odd poll to begin with, your options are 2 french teams that I can't imagine anybody saw too often, the only non Canadian team and St.John's. Seems a bit skewed, eh?

There were alot of things behind the scenes that lead to the failure of the Fog Devils it wasn't just a travel costs thing apparently. So assuming this ends up being true I'd have to guess the Q and the other 17 Owners were given some sort of assurance that wouldn't be the case this go around if a purchase and relocation were allowed.

The price for air travel for all teams would require an incredible budget.
This would cost between $175K and $250K for transportation. It would really have to be worth it.
It is sad for the people of Acadia to read this.

It is sad for the people of Acadia to read this. I'd have to think if this is happening they have a major sponsor lined up to cover a large portion of the airfare.
