Thought a thread on the Preseason was needed other than next year.
The Sea Dogs played their first pre-season game last night against the Wildcats and left Fredericton with a 5-2 win. The two (2) teams meet again tonight in Dieppe. Cole Burbidge recorded two goals and an assist to lead the Sea Dogs.
Anyone updated on the current roster to see who left for NCAA options?

Has Mark Lee actually been hired as an assistant coach? The Sea Dogs haven't mentioned the hiring on Twitter or the sjseadogs.com/ website. I assume they did. Maybe the media guy is on vacation. They haven't been really mentioning much info about training camp this year. Has anyone had a chance to see any practices, scrimmages or games? Has anyone stood out? |

There is a trio of ON players that came but no announcement made by the team. |

We're over the player limit and can't officially add some of the players until we cut some. Until then, they are technically fa. |

I was referring to how after Memorial Cup if anyone mentioned overpayment and such when full trade details came out, some people jumped all over the posters saying that since the Memorial Cup was won it didn't matter if we traded away Gretzky, Lemieux and Lidstrom to get Alexandre Daigle. We won so it's all worth it. No, it isn't. Winning doesn't forgive any stupidity and bad moves along the way. The fact that they want fans to come out and support teams that are likely to suck hard for the next 2-3 years but cant even make any effort to give any meaningful information about new players and free agents and such...well why should fans suffer through it while the organization seems to have said "Fuck it", or are still on the Memorial Cup winning bender? They should have a full press marketing campaign on right now trying to generate interest in this team and these players nobody knows anything about, for the most part. Instead all we get each day is emails stating "Season Ticket benefit #27 - You can watch your SJSD getting their asses kicked all year long from the same seat and dont even need to wait in line to do so because you can enter a special door!" |

Don’t buy season tickets then, I can understand people being frustrated and they should be putting out information but if you’re not happy with the down years, the costs associated with winning the Memorial Cup or don’t support how they ran the rebuild and lead up to it, then show them. This isn’t to say you even have season tickets but it’s a common trend for people on these boards, complain about how the team runs things (sometimes year after year) but they keep coming back. I know if I’m unhappy with how a restaurant or business is run, I just stop supporting it. |
