Based on what I've seen, I dont think we've made any cuts and I believe that 3 players have left to preserve NCAA (SJ does not put out press releases for that).
The new guys haven't been announced because 1) we haven't added them all and 2) we may intend on adding more invites.

I've watched a few games from Simek now and he reminds me a lot of Joseph's game when he was 17.
I only got to see the one preseason game, but there were quite a few interesting players that could compete for a roster spot.

Don’t buy season tickets then, I can understand people being frustrated and they should be putting out information but if you’re not happy with the down years, the costs associated with winning the Memorial Cup or don’t support how they ran the rebuild and lead up to it, then show them. This isn’t to say you even have season tickets but it’s a common trend for people on these boards, complain about how the team runs things (sometimes year after year) but they keep coming back. I know if I’m unhappy with how a restaurant or business is run, I just stop supporting it. He doesn't buy tickets. News flash, SJ is unlikely to be the worst team in the division. I buy tickets. I no longer have season tickets since Covid happened combined with a few health issues. Makes it too difficult to commit to attending games on a regular basis. I did have season tickets up until then though from year one, so it being a "down year" did not effect me having season tickets at all. I'm sure I'll go to some games this season as well. I also buy the online home and away package...not that any of this matters at all. Fans are allowed to voice their anger or frustrations or whatever equally as much as their happiness or approval at what their chosen team does. I'm also a Chicago Blackhawks fan. I'm allowed to be unhappy with the moves they made this off season. I'm allowed to call ownership/management out on how they handled the Kyle Beach situation. That doesn't mean I have to stop following the team or watching their games. 99.99% of us probably don't have season tickets to the NHL team(s) we support. Guess we should all refrain from commenting on them, or any team anywhere that we don't have season tickets for?

There were no Sea Dogs fans who didn't think that management paid way too much (specifically, the Lessard trade given that he was acquired to be a 4th liner). I believe the criticism came from mostly out of towners. The good news is that we seem to be starting this post-championship rebuild with better infrastructure even if we have no 1sts.

If we start the rebuild with a full compliment of capable coaches I'll be happy. It appears we will be. Hopefully we get a surprise return of a 20 year old or two later on in the year that we can flip to accelerate the rebuild because with how empty the draft pick cupboard is, this could take a while.

In regards to no information coming out about player movement who is coming going and the addition of assistant coaches You would think they would try to get people excited about the team for this year. They might not be a bottom feeder but there will be some long nights when better teams come to town.
Also, I'm not sure what the whole thought process was for moving all of the pre-season games to Fredericton the past couple of seasons. Not really fair to the fans in our area who support the team to have to go there or miss out on the game. Sorry not driving to Fredericton to watch a pre-season game but I would go to TD Station or the Q plex.

Your recent posts seem to be a little on the extreme side. Do you want to keep complaining about overpayments for last year? Thought we had been there done that but go ahead and open anew thread about it if you want? Pretty good consensus here that we big time emptied the cupboards, overpayed in some of the transactions but I think you have to expect inflated prices for a Memorial Cup host. Anyways, transactions were made, team blew it in the Q playoffs, and then won the Memorial Cup. Now on to the aftermath. I have little issue with lack of press releases to this point. Several of these players will not make the team, I’d rather see some news when there’s news to give about what our 22/23 team is gonna look like, but to each their own.

I've said plenty of nice shit about the team and management too. I just don't ONLY post like everything is great that the team does, or defend management when there is a perceived fuckup, like some people here do. Its almost like they think by being the great defender of TG (or whoever is in charge at the time) they will become bestest buddies with them for chugging the Kool Aid, or they are afraid they'll be blackballed for saying something bad. Then there are the people that seem to believe if you post something bad about the team you can't be a fan and you should just go away and stop posting, buying tickets, or following the team. Thats just fucking stupid. If that applied you'd have like 50 people at each game like Bathurst does.

Good to see the Dogs have identified the lack of a defense coach as a point of weakness. I see as a player Hansen was a forward but racked up the PIMs like one of the Hanson brothers lol
He was an assistant coach in Lethbridge since 2017, and has been working with the defense. Here’s hoping this new coaching crew can serve the kids well.

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Friday they have relieved assistant coach Jeff Hansen of his coaching duties.
"Jeff is a good man and a hard worker, and this wasn't an easy decision, but we felt it was time to make a change," said Hurricanes General Manager Peter Anholt. "We weren't happy with the development of our defence and the accountability of our blueline. We'd like the thank Jeff for his tireless work over his five years with the organization and wish him the best in his future endeavours."

Lethbridge didn't have a very good d on paper and didn't end up with a very good d. He may or may not be the guy to help our young D, but let's not hang an opinion on an incompetent GM's quotes as he was letting Hansen go.

Ethan Dollemont was released by Moncton.
He would be a good addition to the Saint John D core.
