So if I were guessing at our final roster, it would prob look something like: Reynolds - MacDonald - OA Simek - Trenholm - Barry Thifault - Burbidge - Elie MacDonald - Campbell - Laforge Szczerba Mateiko Bilodeau - Desroches Tivey - Cosman Welsh - Despont Richard Tracey Hurtubise Brideau (Assuming that Welsh is reporting to main camp and will have a spot) I've not really been following too much this training camp. Is Gartley not expected to make the team or is this an oversight? Also, are we not expecting Burns back to take that OA spot at forward? Tivey, Tracey, Richard, Dickie and Cloutier have all come to camp and busted their tails off. I have it listed as OA because right now both Burns and Lessard are invited to camp (likely to compete for one spot). |

Is the article meant to imply that Welsh won't be joining the team at all? Or just not for camp? Seems unclear to me.

When Welsh was playing U18 with the Macs, I was expecting more from him at this level then he has showed to be honest.
I was sure the Isles were going to grab him draft day..

I think the Eagles reached on him by a round or so at the time, then he was rushed to the MHL instead of playing another year of U18, which I think would have been a lot better for him then playing in the MHL. I wonder what would have happened for him had he gone back instead of rushing into junior hockey as a 16 year old. |

Idk, I watched him a lot that year and I thought if his last name wasn't Welsh he wouldn't have been taken before the 3rd or 4th round... Tho as I say that, it was a very top-heavy draft, so there weren't a lot of guys that make me say "wow they OBVIOUSLY should have taken this guy instead" |

Given Welsh hasn’t played a game for Saint John if he comes he would be a bottom pairing so his delay to report will have no impact on the team and honestly his likely a junior A player then a Q player.
Not hearing much about Brady Burns is he a lock for a 20 spot??

Not hearing much about Brady Burns is he a lock for a 20 spot?? Barring a trade, I would say the 20 spots will go to Desroches, Hurtubise, and one of Burns or Lessard (if he’s healthy) The team already confirmed their going with 3 goalies to start the season so Hurtubise is locked in, and they need to keep Desroches because of how thin the D core is right now. |
