One thing this cycle has that the last didn't is quality invites. We are starting from far better depth, meaning that trading the likes of Burbidge, Reynolds, Bilodeau and our imports won't necessarily destroy a season.
Even without Bilodeau, we could still have: Ianniello - Gauthier Tivey - Dassylva Richard - Delage
Up front, we'd definitely feel the loss of Reynolds plus, but it would thrust players into bigger roles. If we can avoid 5 16s playing big minutes in a year because we have the depth to, it can only bode well for us.

I think Bilodeau won’t be a Seadogs after Christmas I ear from certain scouts, if this is correct I sure hope Ianniello gets a good season because he will be the only offensive D we will have. What is the team missing? Looks like a decent group of front, veteran D and a solid #1 goalie Up front, we have some depth, but we don't necessarily have X factors. Reynolds is definitely one, but Burbidge would have been the second. If he's willing to move, Reynolds should be dealt at some point. Our top 6 either requires that one of the OA candidates steps or that a 16 year-old plays top 6 and requires more from Elie (and that would likely get us to 4th best). On the back end, something to keep in mind is that outside of Gauthier, none of our D have more than a year at this level. We also have a lot of 2nd pairing types (and guys with potential) vs 1st pairing types. There is a non-zero chance that a team makes an offer we can't refuse for Bilodeau (he doesn't fit our cycle, so he could be available if the price is right). Brideau isn't as good as Shingarov IMO, but it is close enough that we'd rather not have an OA in nets. We don't know enough about the other guys, but there is a chance that someone other than Brideau is our starter by the end of the year.

Should be interesting to see if there are any surprises at camp. I would expect one or two kids might turns some heads. It all comes down to who put the work on over the summer.

Has anyone seen the Warren kid? 6’7” 235 he is a big kid. Does he have strong enough skating to play at this level?

Forward Alexis Brisson will no longer attend training camp, bringing the roster to 49.

I did get in to watch the scrimmage last night. Here is my quick input. Keep in mind I am new here and don’t know players.
Team white Forwards Cloutier has good skill and very smart Beveridge is small but very fast and very skilled. Has good eye hand coordination. Scored a goal last night when shot was high and wide. He redirected it with his stick like it was the norm. Like Reinhart and Calder Not sure on Morin
Defence It was hard to pick out as a good D is steady and you don’t usually notice them. Amyot is fast and has good skill but small Bilodeau is very good as expected MacLean very smooth skater with good size. Moves puck well Dickie is good not flashy
The rest I don’t think are close
Team Black Forwards The three returning looked good Belle men are has speed along with O’Blenis he hits hard
Defence Caputo is solid and can hit very hard. His passing is not great Tivey looked great Tomas is big but slow Did not notice the rest to give an idea
I was disappointed Warren was not playing. I heard someone say he was injured.
Goaltending looks like an issue as nobody stood out.
That is my two cents from watching one scrimmage. It will be interesting to see what they look like in a game.

Does Maclean on D have any shot of cracking the roster?

Not sure I saw he has gotten a few points so far. He looked good the other night? Any info on the kid? Does Maclean on D have any shot of cracking the roster?

Watched him last night. His first shift threw a big hit. He moves the puck well and is very good one on one. It will be interesting to see what his looks like in a game against the islanders. Last night was my first time seeing Simex he is very smooth and fast. The game last night was much more intense than the other one I watched. It’s hard to get a read on everyone in a scrimmage.

Does Maclean on D have any shot of cracking the roster? At this point, I think it is too early for that to be decided unless he plays poorly. SJ should have 1-2 spots available and with Duhamel and Amyot likely candidates to go back to U18 (definitely doesn't hurt that they are from Quebec where the U18 is better), that opens up the door for guys like MacLean, Cloutier, Dickie, Caputo or a late invite to the party.
