I’d prefer it if Grenier wasn’t a healthy scratch. He’s supposed to be an important part of our D core moving forward They traded Iasenza and Darcy to play the kids then went and got Plandowski and keep sitting Grenier. Two main pieces of the rebuild deals. The Spence/Daoust trades are sitting in Game 1 of the playoffs. |

Only Lounsbury out, Mercier & Mueller are back. Interestingly enough Sampson is drawing in over McPhee. Perhaps just wanting to get him some experience but also BC is a team with size (13 skaters 6" or taller). They probably want that 4th line to play a bang and crash style who can chip in here and there on offense. Loshing / Labelle / Barbashev Trenholm / Taibel / Daniel Mueller / Beaudoin / Mercier Smith / Sampson / Auger Auger isn't really a crash and bang guy. Maybe not, but he is quick and clearly the next man up if there is an injury in the top 9. |

Plandowski and Fortier-Gendron are both questionable for tonight's game.
Was surprised to see Ballentyne over Grenier yesterday but turned out to be the right call. Big play by #25 on the winning goal.

6th double overtime game in Wildcats/Alpines history. No 3OTs. Longest game went 97 minutes 58 seconds, so this 2OT would have to go 17:58 to tie the record.
Saw the 1st overtime. Lots of high sticks not being called.

Not in the context of how they have been calling the series so far. I thought match penalty was a little over the top. The play happens extremely fast. I don't see how you can call that play an intent to injure when its a split second situation where it looks like Loshing didn't see the guy coming until the last second and then raises his stick to defend himself or anticipate a hit. I can even live with the 5 and a game as it was still a reckless and dumb play to make, especially where it occured. The issue is the flying elbow and the hit from behind on Taibel last night looked to have far more "intent" than what Loshing did but those were only 2 minutes. |
