It's never a boring series against the Drakkar is it? They were Halifax's greatest Quebec-based rival for a long time. We've had bench clearing brawls against them. The MacKinnon saga added some spice. Trey Lewis beat up two of them at once in game four of the 2013 finals. Seems like no matter the circumstances they always provide an entertaining match up.
Congrats on the win tonight. That probably felt extra good missing a couple key players.

I almost died laughing at the picture of Irving and Wild Willie in a board room.
Ticket sales look similar to Game 2. I expect a little bit more game day sales but overall it will be a disapointing crowd for one of the biggest Cats games in Avenir Centre history.

Baie-Comeau fined $500. Request for discipline rejected. I’m assuming that is from the Plandowski hit late in game 5. I saw it as a penalty. Matthew MacDonald was hurt and listed as injured for tonight’s game.

Baie-Comeau fined $500. Request for discipline rejected. I’m assuming that is from the Plandowski hit late in game 5. I saw it as a penalty. Matthew MacDonald was hurt and listed as injured for tonight’s game. I'm surprised Baie-Comeau even spent the $500 to send in the tape. The precedent was set when Hamel caught the flying elbow. No way this was getting any extra discipline. |

Entertaining series even for fans of other teams.
Moncton deserved that one but Ciarlo was a standout. However, the Cats play on the perimeter a bit too much.

Avenir was rocking on the tying goal despite only having 3750 fans. A shame we couldn't close it out. Entertaining game nonetheless which is all I really ask for this season.

If the Cats didn't take that dumb too many men penalty this series is likely over. Overall you can't shame the effort on the ice, they completely outworked and outplayed BC, but lacked some execution around the net. Need less shooting into shinpads and low percentage point shots and more driving the puck into the slot.
Of course it wouldn't be playoffs without a dramatic Mat Hicks penalty call (I assume it was his call on the major).

If the Cats didn't take that dumb too many men penalty this series is likely over. Overall you can't shame the effort on the ice, they completely outworked and outplayed BC, but lacked some execution around the net. Need less shooting into shinpads and low percentage point shots and more driving the puck into the slot. Of course it wouldn't be playoffs without a dramatic Mat Hicks penalty call (I assume it was his call on the major). Up and down game for Labelle for sure. He was at fault on the too many men penalty. He totally redeems himself by tying the game. Unfortunately he got caught puck watching and let his guy walk into the slot 23 seconds into OT. I have a feeling he's going to have a big game tonight. Put him down for at least a goal. He's been one of our most consistent players all season but hasn't found his groove in the playoffs. |

I guess hard checks are a roughing penalty now. |
