By trading the 1st in '24 instead of the 18th you gotta think they are probably targeting Wheeler at 18. We'll see. That '24 1st is also one less asset to help them load up for 24-25.

I don’t love the move … but let’s see what Carrier ends up being. If you are going to give up a first to move up from 13 to 6, you had better knock it out of the park with the 6th pick.

Hey at least they took a guy who was actually projected around this pick, other teams wanted and isn't going NCAA. Looks like they stole him from Shawinigan who immediately traded their own pick. The scouting report on Carrier looks pretty solid, but yeah it's too early to know if this was the right move.

I was honestly fearful they'd pick Morin and have him not show up. #lowexpectations

Maybe Morin is the wait and see target at 18. Then if he doesn't report would they get a compensatory "1st" next year to replace the one they just traded?

Also it looks like Blainville paid more for #7 than the Cats did for #6.

If I had to bet, if they gamble on an NCAA guy at 18 it will be Kilfoil.

Collard could be poised to have a big season. 18 and 52 isn't a terrible risk for a guy who went 3rd just 2 years ago.
