I may have missed a press release somewhere but does anyone know if Goyens is coming back as coach yet, one day before the draft? Also, I'm surprised at the rumored interest in acquiring a prized D man because I thought we were told last spring that the Eagles' returning D core would be one of the best in the league? There's been silence on that front from what i've seen. The team is actually saying they want scoring to replace Ivan and Johnson. Scoring!!! They should have worked to develop Patterson and Shields last season instead of playing the shit out of Johnson, Boutin and Roy, pretty sure those 2 guys can score and have more upside then either of the 3 who saw 20 mins a night. Oh wait, but we made the playoffs!! Bullshit, now you got 2 guys starting over this season trying to get their confidence back, and the Eagles lost 4 straight to Halifax. Nice re-build. |

No press release yet on what Goyens situation is , be nice if they at least send one out if he is back or not back Do you need to have a press release saying your coach is coming back? The fact that we are even waiting for it to happen should tell us everything we need to know about his relationship with Management. He is under contract for another season, Sly should have stood behind him or fired him in April. He is not quiting and giving up his salary, so unless Simon is willing to eat it, he is coming back. How fuk'ing awkard is next season going to be with that guy behind the bench. I am calling mass exodus before the puck drops in September. |

He'd be leaving for a pro job in an organization that just made wholesale changes and doesnt care about this leagues calendar. Q contract means nothing to someone with pro aspirations. It's Sly's job to protect this franchise and its players development. He also owes the fans a comment about who the coach is going to be ahead of the draft after he himself put doubt on it a few weeks back. Even if its just an honest "Goyens has a pro interview and we hope it goes well for him and if so we're prepared to move in a new direction if our coach moves on to bigger and better" As usual we're force fed their agenda through our local newspaper. There is no such thing as honest journalism when it comes to this league. The media is just an extension of the teams PR. Look at how bad its been here and the endless positive or at worst neutral spin people like Jeremy Fraser and Wily Palov put on some of the disasters we've seen here. It's 100% through the lense of the teams ownership and its agenda. |

Ya they should have dealt with goyens back in April , 2 weeks ago sly comes out in paper and pretty much says no endorsement for goyens so now I think you have a mess, if goyens starts next season here I don’t think he will last long so they should deal with it now but they probably won’t , what a difuntional organization They want us to believe they're the smallest of markets with no budgets for proper hires and can't afford to pay multiple coaches so its Goyens leaving on his own or we have to bring him back. How much is Irwin Simon worth again? |

I always thought Jon Goyens was kind of arrogant and strived to show everybody in the room just how smart he is .............but having said that.......we have to be one of the most dysfunctional Organization's in all of Hockey ..... a medling Owner .....a President who is now an Advisor because of various reasons ......3 GM's in 5 years ......4 Coach's in 5 years ......It's time for Mr Moneybags to live up to his World Class Promises and hit a Home Run for a Head Coach .......getting tired of us looking like a Cluster___K .
