As mentioned in the Moose board, I feel that Reece Peitzsche would look good in an Isles jersey. Center with very good size. Right age. 17yrs old. Better opportunity/ice time here with the Isles. Would make perfect sense....imo. Yes! You’re not wrong. Buuuuuut to get you need to give and the Islanders have nothing of interest to Halifax. Don’t bring up Horth in this again. He’s plateaued and is playing to his old norms. I don’t know what picks you guys have but some sort of 3 way deal could make sense. Horth is doing exactly what I questioned about him. He’s gone ice cold after a blistering start, much like last year. The argument will be that “goals scored matter” and they do but they only matter if you think he can keep up that pace or get back there. I personally don’t think he does so the sky high value some people want to get for Horth may be a lot lower then they think.

Horth is streaky everyone agrees on that
Horth doesn't create his own offense very much he is the type of player who scores in the dirty areas.....
Right now nobody is scoring in Charlottetown.... so it's not too surprisng that his numbers have dried up as a result
he would still be a very good fit on a contender IMO

Which takes me back to IMO the best chance at getting value is maybe CB. It just seems like a fit. CB would be better off with another 20yo forward that doesn’t break the bank.

I think he makes sense in Drummondville as a 3rd wheel on one of their lines (for the same reasons that CB would work).

I wouldn’t really expect to land much in a return for Horth - if I’m drummondville I’d actually probably prefer Elliot over Horth - Physical and a dog on the puck plays both ends very well and can move up and down lineup easily
Just see Horth as a one dimensional guy and if he isn’t scoring he doesn’t do much else to create offense Cape could use him as an upgrade for sure but I wouldn’t expect much in a return

21 goals in 30 games for Horth.
How he is not a hot commodity come trade period is beyond me.

21 goals in 30 games for Horth. How he is not a hot commodity come trade period is beyond me. This morning Horth woke up and had 4 goals in the last 6 weeks… that’s probably got a lot to do with it since scoring goals is supposed to be his thing. The market isn’t usually huge for 20s and if you’re not regarded as one of the top few guys value drops pretty quick. Ryn, Drum, Halifax all want/may want another 20 but with Mianscum, Roelens, Reynolds and maybe some others in the mix… There’s a market for Horth I would think, i just doubt it’s the top tier. Expectations may just need to be curbed a bit, you guys did this to yourselves last year as well. Biakabutuka was supposed to be a big chip. I remember talk about whether or not some people wanted Lamoureux as a piece of a trade for another of your 20s. How many 2nd round picks are on your team? Be happy with some reasonable assets and hopefully there’s a trade to be made for the Islanders.

I don't think anyone is expecting a 1st round pick for a guy like Horth. However, no matter how you slice it, even with only 4 goals in the last 6 weeks (which, by the way, is wrong), he is still tied for 3rd in goals scored in the league, and is a ppg player on a shit team. He is also physical and doesn't mind going to the dirty areas.

Horth should have been traded last year. That's when he had his full value for contenders.

I know this might sound a little bit crazy. But Michael Horths value isn't set by posters on a niche QMJHL forum.
Halifax posters saying they don't want him doesn't mean that Cam Russell isn't interested in him the same way that posting about every goal he scores or listing his height and weight will increase his value or interest.
If he doesn't get dealt it could be that Hulton is asking for too much, or its also possible Sly Couturier is ready with bags of 1st and 2nd round picks to overpay for him. At this point everything feels pretty tight lipped heading into the trade period.

That being said, there are a couple of teams (Drummondville, CB) where their lack of finishing would make him a great fit.
