Playing with the Caps should be a fantastic spot for Lemieux-Goupil to spend his 16 y/o season.
They have one of the top Jr. A programs in Canada. It is great that there is such a positive relationship between the these two franchises.

Simon Duguay and Rowan Walsh both cut.
They both had solid camps imo, but of a surprise Duguay was cut since he was on the roster last year. Walsh will be back, surely.

Duguay will be much better off playing junior a…for the sake of himself, and the team.
Walsh was just a local kid that they kept along…didn’t stand out as being weaker than the rest of the group, but the chances of a 6th round pick making it as a 16 y/o are slim. He’ll be right back in the mix next year I’m sure.

Madden Steen looked very poised as a 20 year old invite with extensive OHL experience. His possible addition would certainly put Duguay and Hughes on the roster bubble. Steen, Stumpf and Caines stood out for new guys. Herron and Masi looked good for 16 year olds. Still believe Steen stays. Duguay demoted yesterday. Prediction that Hughes ends up with Summerside Caps. Grand Falls has his rights so a Marjhl trade needs to occur. The Isles will pick up a OHL cast off for forward depth.

Steen exposed badly against an ok bathurst team and looked ok against a very week st john team. speed is the problem in feet and processing plays
Would make a good jr a #3-4 d pairing.

Steen is already set up with a billet, he will be staying, not sure what it means for the 20s situation… Still a week out before the start of the season, let’s see what Hulton can cook up.

You might have a connection to steen because i haven’t heard one person say this, word around rink is they don’t think he should even be top 6 if he was 19, really just doesn’t make sense why he is still even in Charlottetown. Ruccia is here with being top goalie in league. Gurionov a very skilled playmaker/ scorer who almost hit 30 goals last year and experience on good teams in past. Hughes is a workhorse big body physical player who almost hit 30 without even being a goal scorer, as well as a leader and a fan favourite. Need all the offense we can get with horth, morneau and huckins leaving…

Hughes is a workhorse big body physical player who almost hit 30 without even being a goal scorer, as well as a leader and a fan favourite. Need all the offense we can get with horth, morneau and huckins leaving… There’s a void on the back end, Voyaga and Plamondon are rookies who are going to have growing pains. Jardine is still unproven, there’s room for guys to step up. Steen has a lot of CHL experience, it’s not that crazy to see him being able to carve out a valuable role. Up front it’s easy to envision a scenario where you can construct a solid top 9 without Hughes, I’m not saying it’s right or wrong but I can understand it. If you’re projecting growth from players, the D might be the bigger concern. Ruccia is also not going to play every game so there’s opportunity to dress all 3 of the skating OA’s and it’s pretty clear, with there only being 20 skaters that they’re probably looking to add an OHL player who goes through waivers. See who/what becomes available to you and who plays better to start the year and make your 20 decision from there. Competition on a weak team, isn't a bad thing.
