Big game tonight. 8000+ for a home opener in year one of a rebuild isn't bad. Moose front office must be doing something right. Does that loss on Monday help the team relax knowing there's no streak on the line? Or does the big crowd cause them to grip their sticks a little tighter? Quebec is young as well. The youngest team in the league according to EliteProspects. www.eliteprospects.com/league/qmjhl But they have some firepower and they're playing with nothing to lose. My gut says this one doesn't go our way. Looking forward to seeing Quebec's young stars, and just getting back to the rink. Go Moose!

I think Quebec will have the same lineup on offense that they had last night. Wright will be back after a one game suspension. Goyette, Messier, Stewart and Lelièvre are injured. Courchesne was a healthy scratch.
Côté - Quinn - Lebel Straka - Dagenais - Dorion M.Rousseau - J.Rousseau - Howard Plouffe - Loiselle - Greenwell
Valent - Michaud Morrison - Vigneault Desmarais - Wright
Denault or Deniger? (Denault played last night)

Last seasons home opener was almost sold out if I remember correctly? Definitely think that the missing "big guns" have to do with this year being a generally lower attendance at the home opener - not saying it's a small crowd - just compared to the last years. Excited anyways!!

Excited anyways!! Home openers are generally attended well compared to regular games, but it depends on the year and depends on the event. Last year Nathan MacKinnon's #22 was retired and they had over 10,000 for a home opener for the only time in franchise history. Would need 8700+ tonight to crack the top 5 best-attended home openers. Highest attendance - Moose home openers: 1. 10198 - 2023-24 (Nathan MacKinnon jersey retirement) 2. 9949 - 2018-19 (1st game after a 15-game road trip to start the year. Memorial Cup hosting year) 3. 9301 - 2013-14 (Presidents Cup / Memorial Cup banner raising) 4. 9223 - 2012-13 (Championship year) 5. 8740 - 1998-99 (No special event that I can recall. Nagy's 1st game) 6th was 8469 in 99-00... another Moose Memorial Cup hosting season. All of those teams in the above seasons were going for championships. This team is in year one of a rebuild. I think 8000+ is impressive, and to crack that list would be insane.

3-2 Quebec. Degenais has himself a game.
It's our home opener, which naturally means we lose because that would be unfortunate.

The Hypno Moose has arrived.
Also looks like something Cape Breton would mount on the wall after beating us.

I like the lights on the glass more than the moose.
Anyways, we started out dominant and it felt like the team thought they’d just win this easily… until the laser of a shot tied it.
Should be a good game

Wow this teams fun to watch.
Cant blame Rousseau on that Cote goal that shot was filth
Moser has scored in every game he’s played in, he has two healthy scratches as he has been rotating with Breton.
Great Power Play and PK’s. See how the rest of this one goes. I was skeptical of the Hanging Moose until its eyes lit up and smoke came out of its nostrils, that’s pretty awesome. The board lights give the game an NHL like atmosphere.
Disappointed they switched to cashless payment at the concessions but I guess I’m not surprised.

Patrick Deniger looks good considering this is his 2nd career Q game and he’s only 16 years old, three games in the QMAAA this season too.

Concessions are plus tax now too. Price increases without needing new signs, like cineplex. Get paper receipts as well.
