As of this morning, there does not appear to have been any communication from Bartos to the Titan in the last 3 weeks.
Our camp started late compared to other camps and Martin would be knowing that he had to report to his Q team by this time. One has to conclude pretty much that he is not interested in coming back to his team.
So the question is from now on: what will it do to the Titan if we lose Bartos?
Personally, after checking practices and pre-season games, I am really enthused with the depth the Titan got at forward.
Any rebuilding year, we would see at least 4-6 rookies coming on this team from the camp....I am thinking about the following names: Champion Tanel Blanchard Couture Critchlow Côté Bernier
Now if we think of guys like Basque and Louden who are doing fairly well at camp and are 19 YOs and Ross as an OA and Therrien injured, there are a lot of possibilities out there....
To come back to Bartos, I could see a guy like Massé going first line with Perreault and Svoboda and bringing as much if not more goals to that line. Then I could see a player like Joly move up to 2nd line and bring easily in 20-25 goals and bringing a gritty player to that line to go along Messier and Clendenning. Then we would have a 3rd line of Mailloux-Faille-Grenache which would be awesome and we still would have Jezegou,Legros,Labelle,Critchlow,Couture,Bernier,etc... for backups and 4th liners.... Now Jezegou is a utility player who can play from line 2 to line 4 and be used in PK and PP situations, making him indispensable.
Bartos' departure would actually create some openings for rookies waiting in the wings and it would not diminish that much our offensive output.

I doubt you will get many agreeing with you, after all the "who is replacing Beauregards offense" and all the 80-100 pt predictions for Bartos. Losing Bartos should be considered a big hit. It would be like losing MacMillan and having us say "thats fine, Grant is playing well, the offense wont suffer"

With Chaput, Piche, and Castonguay no shows in Lewy, and Bartos a no show in Titanville, Halifax is the top team in this conference, new goalie or not.
In fact, if the above mentioned players do not show up, and significant trades are not made to address the voids, it won't even be close, I'm afraid. I like a good race, so this would be no good for anyone.

So Bathurst can't draft Euros and now they can't convince the ones they trade for to come back either.... wonder why? anyways losing Bartos is a huge hit (if it is true) to your chances this season.

Obviously Bartos is entertaining offers in his country and pondering his options. The Titan never backed up from paying well the top Euros they had and I am confident to say that it is not a matter of nickel and dime here. For those who believe that this would be a fatal blow to the Titan, I will answer that any fan following this team closely would be much less assertive on that regard......

First of all - you admittedly have no idea where Bartos or what he is doing. Heck you went so far as to say the Titan hadn't talked to him in three weeks. Yet at the same time you are certain "obviously" that he is entertaining offers in Europe. Maybe his mother is sick? Maybe his girlfriend is pregnant? Maybe he has Visa problems? Maybe he is at his countries U20 camp? Maybe he stopped over in Vegas to see Elton John? Maybe he missed a connecting flight smoewhere? Maybe he is entertaining offers? Maybe you don't know? Obviously that is the case.

Not fatal, but how do you discount what losing an 80-100 point player would mean? If Voracek makes Columbus, it's not a fatal blow to the Moose, but if I came on here and said it's no big deal- he can be replaced, you would laugh your ass off at my comment.

Anyone who thinks they can lose 2 of their top 3 offensive players (200 points and 95 goals) and be in better shape is not thinking straight. Yes you brought in Svoboda but he only had 34 goals and 69 points. There is no way this is anything other than HUGE hit for Bathurst if he is a no show. This is also the second time Bartos was going to leave his Q team. If he doesn't show, I wonder when Bathurst first knew that he was thinking of not coming back.

Another thing I know is that Bartos found excuses at last camp and at Christmas to justify being late, but this time around he is more than late...........

While everyone knows I have no liking for the Titan, this sucks, if he doesn't return. When Bartos was in Saint John I had the chance to speak to him more than a few times. Seemed like a good kid and always was open to chatting with fans when the chance came along. I was looking forward to seeing him play this year. Hopefully he comes back.

Euros come to the Q with aspirations of playing in the NHL. Given that Bartos is 19 and passed over in consecutive drafts it is not surprising that playing in a pro Euro league could be the preferred choice. Actually I had posted this same thought back at the end of last year when Bartos left before the end of the year gathering and people like CHSB jumped all over me for tearing apart for even considering the possibility of Bartos not coming back.
Obviously as Mike says it is very premature and I certianly don't know one way or the other but in response to the comment that Bartos may not come back:
If its true, I am sure that Bartos at some point was in touch with the Titan informing them that he may not be coming back and they have probably been trying to convince him. And if he hasn't been in touch with them in the past month it is probably because he isn't coming and isn't interested in the sales pitch. As I highly doubt that he went home after the season and took the phone of the hook refusing to talk to the Titan Management at all.
As for the potential impact IF Bartos doesn't report it will have an impact especially when some were predicting in the range of 35/40 goals and 100 pts from Bartos.
I think Masse is capable of being the 3rd player on the top line and will be fine.
Then on the second line I think both Joly and Grenache could be good options. Although there will likely be a very noticable drop off from what Masse could have produced on the second line to your other options.
Overall with the Titans depth on offense they will be alright. However, losing a highly skilled offensive player like Bartos will have an impact in comparison to how Bathurst matchs up with Halifax, Lewiston and PEI.
On the topic has Svoboda reported or when is he expected to show up ?
