Rough start by Rio...that first goal was pretty weak. He barely even reacted. Perhaps nervous with his dad in the crowd? 2 PPGs was a definite improvement. The first PPG was a nice tic-tac-toe play, with to stopping the puck to play with it. Hmmmmmmm.....what a concept. I guess with the team we have, we can't do that every time.

There was more important people in the crowd then his father and their eyes were on Barberio and Riopel and possible Sills. You could see Barberio go early. Rio has to improve his numbers even though his numbers are reflective of his team not his play.

I'm surprised no one has brought up how dangerous the parking lot is getting with all those tumble weeds blowing around.
I have never seen the parking lot as empty as it was tonight, RKI cannot be happy.

With 2400+ season ticket holders, that's just over 700 walk-ups.

Bad stuff - I thought Riopel played the cats out of that game. He should have had at least the first two goals and probably the third. Then the coach coached them out of it. No time out what is up with that? They make their line changes at the worst time I have seen. The forwards enter the zone, fire the puck in the corner and go off on a line change leaving the two D at center ice. Of course the puck comes right back out and when the next line gets it in the D change leaving nobody on the points and out it comes again. Where is the forechecker that is supposed to hem them in while the line change? The cats showed again that they are just too small. The foggies chased them off of the puck too easily during the third. I do not think Marquardt threw a hit all night. I wish he would play up to his ability.
Good stuff - The rest of the team played a pretty good game. Cameron had his best game so far I thought. The pp looked like it is starting to click at first. I liked the shots from the point by the first unit and having Morehouse in front of the goalie on the second unit was causing SJ problems and allowed Camerons goal. The foggies adjusted to it after awhile and started to rush the point but it was still nice to see it working. Am I wrong or was that our first goal on a 5 on 3 this year?

I thought that this was Brentons best game of the year so far. He created a few chances with his speed and board work. Brown also played a good game IMO. Good to see him back in the lineup as well.

Perhaps Rio could have had a couple of those goals, but we can't let Herr off scot free either - he gift wrapped the first one when Boyle's pass went through his legs, then tripped on his own feet trying to recover it, only to watch a Foggie blow by and snap it by Riopel - looked like he caught Riopel sleeping a little ... Herr also made an atrocious clearing attempt that directly lead to the winner in the third period - tough night at the office for him.
Brown and Brenton both played their best games IMO ...
As a team, we need to get better at reading the play - too many times we make blind passes to areas where there is nothing but the other coloured jersey in sight, resulting in turnovers.

Cats or should I say Flynn lost that gamne! With 1:44 left in the game (in the offensive zone) no time out called.....no pulling out the goaltender in order to have a chance to even up the game!WT..H is going on Danny? Positive side the Brenton Brown and Lessard line certainly tied down the Devils! Power play saw an improvement 2 for 4.... Attendance is going down??? Macausland Mangan and Besak it s a matter of time before they produce. Who s next....the Eagles....Ah crap! Calling a timeout at 1:47 is too early IMO ... but in hindsight since it was the last opportunity it should have been done. Flynn didn't have hindsight at his disposal ... he gambled that there would be another whistle and lost that gamble. I don't blame him for that ... I'm sure he'd like to have that back too if he could do it over. Exact same scenario as Kovalev calling out Carboneau ... all based on hindsight.

Hard to blame Herr when he only dresses for what seems like 1 out of 5 games. Guys are going to make mistakes when they don't get enough real game time. We have too many players on our roster and need to trim to 23.

Same as pulling the goalie, you usually don't pull the goalie at 1:45 in a 1-goal game, closer to the 1-minute mark. Never got the chance though.

But that just make you wrong at the 1:44 mark. You generally save your TO for the last 30sec or so.
