Comments in the interview sounded pretty much "done deal". Has it been confirmed that Bartos is not coming back? Formality I suppose... The mere fact that not too many folks are talking about it leads to believe the loss is bigger than most are willing to admit. Bartos was a huge part of the team this season. Wether he was 1st or 2nd line, it made for 2 pretty potent offensive lines. Without him, we have 1-1/2 lines. Maybe someone will surprise and step it up big. Either way, it's still a pretty big blow (because that ~someone~ that steps up this year, we WOULD have had that guy, PLUS Bartos...) No matter how you slice it, whatever combinations we come up with for the team, everything COULD have been "PLUS BARTOS"...man I don't care wether he advised the team or not (I did care actually, quite a bit...) but now, I'm just REALLY steamed that he is not coming.

Steamed at him for trying to jump to the next level ? Were you steamed at Bergeron when he did the same ? The only difference in the two is the apparent lack of communication on the part of Bartos ... and you indicate you don't care about that.
I can understand your frustration as you describe it ... but I don't think Bartos is to blame for anything other than poor communication ... a forgiveable mistake in my book.

I'm not steamed at Bartos at all. I'm steamed because the team I was looking forward to seeing this season INCLUDED Bartos. We are not as strong without him as we were with him, wether folks will admit it or not. No matter who steps up their game, we are minus one of our top 3 players.
I was almost pissed that Bergeron made the Bruins. Not at him, but that we would have to do without him...

He showed no respect towards the team or his professional obligations. He'll never make it in the big leagues. I'm not steamed, i'm disappointed that he has such a poor attitude.

The Titan are expecting someone to step and make up for the loss of Bartos. Bartos already had good chemistry with Perreault so they would have been ready to go from the start of the season. Him not returning will mean one, two or more players being given a shot with Perreault and Svoboda (guessing they will play together). Three players who did not play much together (if at all) last year. Svoboda played in Drummondville last year, which had tons of injuries so he might be adept at adapting to linemates changing on a regular basis. We saw last year that Perreault wasn't as effective when his linemates changed a lot. But he was only 18YO last year. Maybe that experience will help him this year. The 'auditions' could mean that production of that whole line will suffer while they 'find' the Bartos replacement. That audition could also have an impact on the rest of the team as players are bumped up and down from line to line during the 'auditions'. In the long run, it might not be that bad. In the short term, I think it will affect production.

Im disappointed...at the end result. We were counting on an 80+ point total for him on the first two lines, now we have to make up for it somehow. This has nothing to do with his attitude, IMO his agent should have taken care of all the communication with the team part....It's a big loss to our team this year, but i'm not too worried right now. Some of you are directing your anger in the wrong places IMO.

Maybe not primo icetime, but surely if there is a player among us ready sometime this season to replace Bartos, he'd have made an impact anywhere on the roster...which also leads to the point that when this guy works his way to an upper line, the line he ~should~ have been on this year will be weakened had Bartos been here...but I digress I can be optimistic and say someone will step it up (someone usually does surprise and breakout), but at the end of it all, we'd still have this currently unknown player PLUS Bartos, which is my point...A team cannot lose an 80+ point man and just shake it off. I believe we are talking our placement in the standings here...

No doubt that losing Bartos will mean losing some offensive punch for a while.
HOWEVER, I indicated in another thread that I thought that Massé or Messier could bring at least the same scoring as Bartos did to the first line.
The question is now who would replace adequately the one of Messier/Massé efficiently on the 2nd line.
Do I believe that the 3rd line losing one of Grenanche/Mailloux/Joly/Faille would be a big blow to the 3rd line production? IMPO the answer is no as they are limited to very little powerplay time and it has been showed that the majority of Bartos goals were on the PP and I would venture the majority of his points also.
The real question remains who will step in to replace the 2nd liner moved to the first line in this case. Will it mean a significant decrease in goal scoring on 3rd and 4th lines? I really doubt it due to the depth players we have.

No mather how you turn the question the lost of Bartos is a very big lost. Anyone who will step up will leave another hole behind him on the second, after that on the third and fourth line. If the guys who step up don't have 90-100 pts at the end of the season it will mean that he did not fill Bartos place completely. I don't care what you say Bartos is a big lost. The only way the Titan could have replace him was to trade for an accomplish player (Like Marchand) at the begining of the season. Now let hope we can find one when the trade period gonna start. Meanwhile, let hope that the Titan don't loose to many pts at the begining of the season while they try to fiond the right guys for the first line. Points at the begining of the season are really important, 1 point could mean the Jean Rougeau trophy ... or a playoff spot

No matter how you want to slice it, losing Bartos is huge, at the end of all the arguments, it's ultimately replacing the number two or three offensive guy with the number eight or nine offensive guy.

I figure come Xmas time, if we're doing really well, a decision will have to be made. Wonder if there are any euros around the league that would be searching for a new home??

A player we could have would be Sinkovic from Vald'Or.
