I never said he'd be a flop did I?.......your flip flop comes from a while back when we were talking about some of the new young guys coming up through the Titan ranks.......at that time guys like Dorion, Clendenning, Labrie, etc., that we were saying would be good players in this league, you were saying that they had the potential, but hadn't proved anything at this level yet.......now the tables have turned, we're talking about a Moncton player and all of a sudden, he has already proved himself in a lower level, without even playing an exhibition game at this level......... I'm not saying nothing bad about your guy.......all I'm saying is that he has the potential to be a very good Q player, but has yet to prove it. You're making up crap to back up your shit disturbing posts. I never doubted that Labrie and Clendenning would be good Q players, I liked both in MAAA and said they had the necessary tools and character. I never said anything about the Q, I said that there were no 6'3" guys with equal talent where he was drafted. You are so caught up in shit disturbing you overlook what my original point was. So what you are saying is that he has a lot of potential, but has never played against 19 and 20 year old men and has yet to prove anything at this level?

He was one of the best in a group of 16 year olds at 15. At 18-19 he'll be one of the best players in the Q.

Possibly.......he will have 2-3 years to prove that and show that the potential he has can blossom.

You want 2 things. First you want your players to be able to "play big". Now I have seen quite a few 5' 9" 170 lb players that had a heck of a lot of fight in them! But, on the average, the physically larger guys will play big. The second thing you want is for your players to be healthy, especially in the final stretch. Concussions, shoulder injuries, pulled this or that muscles, etc all happen MUCH more often to smaller players that to the bigger ones. So, once again, at the end of the season, the team with the most men standing is usually the bigger team. I know they are an expansion team, but St.Johns has had the biggest team in the Q the last 2 years and it got them a spot at the bottom of the standings and 1 playoff victory in 2 years. Same goes for Shawinigan who has a pile of big guys(last year and this year). Lewiston only had 2-3 guys above 6' and 200lbs....same for VD. And Lewy did great, right up until they ran into the Vancouver brick wall of size and toughness! So, under the right conditions, a smallish team can win their league. But, meeting a fast AND big opponent in the Memorial cup was their undoing. As any car nut would tell you: there is no replacement for engine displacement.

I think Lewiston would have did a lot better and matched up better at the MemCup if they had Cliche in the lineup.......losing him killed the team.

Not sure what tournament you were watching, Vancouver didn't win with size and toughness. They were the smallest team in 06 in Moncton and are fast and gritty. Lewy ran into injuries or they had a 50-50 chance to win.

I was watching the tourny where EVERY Vancouver player, and EVERY Medicine Hat Player was doing every thing they could to check Maineiacs players into the bay. And the bay was a good 10 blocks from the rink. After a while, Lewy players were looking over their should at every play. Why, what tournament were YOU watching? The point is, Lewy had an easy time with the Q opposition, because they for the most part Q teams played a speedy, not physical, style of game. Lewy could handle any team with that style last year. But there was much more physical play at the cup, and it clearly threw the players (or clem) off of his game plan. I do not think it was the 2 players that were injured, although that did not help. It was a failure of game strategy--Something which Ed Harding obviously observed and did something about preseason.
