I went back and watched the video again and it looks like Gallant was tying a double square knot in his chin strap. His shield was knocked off but not his bucket. Actually, Brett did un-snap his own helmet...BUT when Legros declined to do the same he re-snapped it. That's all it was. ;D It doesn't take two hands to re-snap a helmet strap but it does to tie a know in it. ;D |

Yeah really... it was very obvious at the game, Gallant unsnapped his helmet and asked Legros to do the same, Legros ignored the request a few times, then finally shook his head no. Before engaging, Gallant had to re-snap his helmet and he struggled with it a bit.
The fact Legros wouldn't accept the invitation to undo his helmet was very disappointing. Fighting with helmets on is how guys break hands. I guess Legros felt he'd take whatever protection he could from the onslaught that was waiting for him. Didn't seem to do him much good.
Just hope Brett's hands are OK!
Funny, you'd say he was tying a knot in his strap. Against Simon Legros. Now that's my idea of com-ed-y!!
