SEA DOGS MAKE PAIR OF ROSTER MOVES Saint John Sea Dogs Head Coach/General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced today that defenseman Sebastien Rioux has been traded to the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in exchange for a seventh round pick in the 2008 QMJHL Entry Draft and a fourth round selection in 2009.
The Sea Dogs also announced today that 20-year old forward Tony Resendes has been released.
Rioux, 19, registered 166GP-10G-38A-48P-109PIM with the Sea Dogs over the course of the past two seasons.

With the departure of Rioux and Resendes, 26 players remain on Saint John’s Training Camp Roster.
Two home dates remain on the Sea Dogs’ exhibition schedule, with games against Lewiston and Acadie-Bathurst slated to take place on September 5 and 9 respectively. Tickets are on sale now for both contests.

If I had to choose I wouldn't hesitate in choosing Knox over Resendes.

Can someone maybe let the secret out of the bag here, and maybe reveal the insider as to what the deal is with Resendes...

Knox's heart is the thing im worried about. if something happens then we will be screwed. Doctor's don't mess with heart conditions and if it was serious enough trust me he would not be playing right now. Resendes basically has locker room issues and having the right attitude and I'll leave it at that.

there must be more to it tho. Im sure half the Q has a bad attitude haha That's true there likely is. His size is a bit of an issue against some of the tougher teams too so that can also be considered. I know Knox is not big either but he does bring more positive attitude to the dressing room and he can score and I'm sure he will be just fine.

I guess I knew this was coming but still he was the main story in our camp. What sort of locker room troubles are we talking about. I mean we have had some coc issues in the past, a DD incident. Somthing that bad, or is he just super cocky?

Somthing that bad, or is he just super cocky? Any cancer is a bad cancer and with him playing in both of the preseason games he was given every chance to prove himself. I know from a few sources he lacked the right attitude but I wasn't told exactly what his attitude was but I do know we don't need that we had it before and things got ugly.

I think it might just be that JB went out and got Knox and maybe he has a lot more faith in Knox, I mean there is no doubt in my mind Knox can be a solid 20 for us. The thing is it might not happen till 20 games in. He should have been in the Q 3 years ago, and maybe now its just to much time to wait. I think tony out played knox the whole camp, but with JB going out to get knox, and maybe resendes bad attitude or w.e it is he just couldn't beat knox out of a spot...

The 20's on-ice performance means very little this season. Their leadership is much more important.
Resendes at 5'zip is also an accident waiting to happen. I can't see him working like that for a full season and staying healthy.
