Okay Littlewolf back to Resendes. We're starting to look like certain posters from Bathurst here guys. When Resendes was still in the picture everyone talked about all his positives for the most part. Now he is cut and people are dumping crap on him and rumors and such.

The kid can play. He is fast. I loved his effort. Too bad he wasn't discovered like 2 years ago. Not saying we should or shouldn't have taken him over Knox. Just that he came to try and make the team and gave it a good go. Good luck to him wherever he ends up this year.

p.s. Hey Littlewolf...isn't there already a bash Leland thread? What does Leland and AAA parents have to do with Resendes? ;D

I was a supporter of Resendes sort of I just wanted another 20 for the forwards. The reason I decided to dump on him is because I would rather have Knox then Resendes because:

a) I think in the big picture Knox is going to turn out to be a better player and

b) the last thing we need is another cancer in the dressing room I didn't know about his character until later.

I'm not making a big issue out of it Canucklehead. I could care less really. I dumped crap on players like Monahan to no end. I just can't stand the flip-flop stuff.

Resendes is gone so how hard would it have been to say, "I think in the long run we'll be better off with Knox. Resendes tried hard and made it interesting though. Good luck to him." and leave it at that?

And Killer...I'll address that backup goalie issue now while making a post that was on topic. ;D I did say that there had to be a way they could have found a backup they were confident in that was not 20 years old. Obviously it wasn't Dopud or St. Laurent or they would not have cut them. There had to be an FA out there though, or a trade to be made involiving a mid-to-late round draft pick to get a backup to Mayer, allowing us to then get another forward.

I like Fullerton. I just don't like having a 20 slot for a backup goalie. It could have been arranged better IMO.

I don't know about the cancer thing, but if you can't keep both, Knox had the edge with size and leadership. Knox showed me enough snippets to be excited about him. It's now a chemistry issue. I feel good about Knox. I'm not sure I could say the same about Tony.

We've got our starter in net for at least two years. Fullerton's value is in maximizing Mayer's potential. It will show when Mayer leads us into the playoffs with a win and Fullerton leads the charge to congratulate him! Either that or we land assets in a trade.

This is going to do great things for Knox too because it appears the team is pretty close to being set and they can focus more on line combinations over the span of the next 4 games and practices. Knox will likely feel alot more comfortable with Resendes being gone.

I don't see Knox fitting well with Liske and Dido. L&D like to hog the puck and score. I think I'd try Guathier up there and move Knox back with Anthony and Sparling. His influence on Stephen and Ryan may do wonders.

How can you say dido likes to hog the puck. You should check out the stats from last year, 25G & 50A, does not seem to me like a person who hogs the puck.
From the games i saw lasty year he was looking for someone to pass the puck to 90% of the time.

We are sitting with 3 questionable 20's right now. Fullerton is only questionable in my mind because we already have a #1 goalie. Knox i think will come around, but right now he is unproven. And Charland has done nothing but get injured in this league and appears to be timid so the jury is out on him for me.

I don't buy the Resendes cancer theory. Let's face it, the kid never had a chance to make the team with the other 3 20's already here and committed to. No matter what JB says, it's all a smoke screen. Just like Langan and Cormier never had a chance to make it this year. Say what you want, but certain guys have been cut with only the illusion that they got a serious look.

I mean hog as in he likes to control the play. He wants to be the guy with the puck setting up other players. Liske has been more of a classic puck-hog so far in camp - get it, keep it, try to score. I think it's that conflict that has left Knox in the cold.

It's not just the cancer factor either when he first started in camp he was much better then he was towards the end (Resendes). He was working his ass off no doubt problem is he was starting to burn himself out and it showed during the Moncton game. Don't call it a cancer if you don't want to but trust me he was not the most positive person in there I trust my sources

Personally I'm 100% sure that he made the best decision when it came to keeping Knox over Resendes and as for the local kids I'm not going back there again everyone knows my stance on that.
