I don't buy the Resendes cancer theory. Let's face it, the kid never had a chance to make the team with the other 3 20's already here and committed to. No matter what JB says, it's all a smoke screen. Just like Langan and Cormier never had a chance to make it this year. Say what you want, but certain guys have been cut with only the illusion that they got a serious look. How do you know if you don't see them in action, and I don't necessarily mean vs. other teams? Why don't we just invite 24 kids to camp and not even bother with the rest? Did anyone give Pisano or McDonald chances? Had anyone ever heard of Didomenico? And how do these kids ever learn where they need to improve? They should feel good they stayed so long. C'mon. tryouts are tough, but they're a necesssary part of the game.

Just to add to Dogbert's comments I would also ask if anyone really think that JB and Co. wouldn't love to have a good local kid on the team? What a great PR move but it's not gonna help the team win right now and his development is better suited in Tier II Langan said it himself that he didn't wanna be on this team just because he's from Saint John. He likely stayed in camp as long as he did because they want him on this team next year there is no doubt about it. They showed him everything he needs to work on and I for one would think he is going to do everything he can this season to prepare himself for next season. Sorry getting of the Resendes topic

Do you really think Langan would talk honestly with the paper about how pissed off he might be that didn't get in an ex. game? The kid knows he has a chance to play here in the future, he is not going to slag the team or JB in the paper. But lets be realistic. The kid is a competitor in the truest form of the word and there is nothing a competitor hates more than not getting a chance to compete.

I agree with CH, you would be foolish not to want a local kid on the team. Langan just has some things to work on and he will be on our team next year, and he will contribute. Even Cormier has a good shot to crack the squad next year he will still be young. Also I think if we werent so deep on D they would have made a move for Tesink last year when he was on the market. There are also a few kids at RNS who will be drafted into the Q and they could be considered "half home grown", i could see one of them landing on the team, In a year or two.
I think if your in the camp you do have a chance to make it, now in some situations you have to be absolutley flat out great to do it. On a deep returning team its hard to come in and steal a spot.

I think he might have known why JB didn't put him in the line up, Langan said he didn't want to play as the home town kid...putting him infront of the home town, makes a lot of people ask why he isn't here. Tier II is the best place for him, he will get top 2 line duties and come back next year.

I think we all knew this was coming ..sooner or later, better to be done now.. we had no room for two 5 foot 6 players especially two made from the same mold,he and Knox play pretty much the same game ..same size...same age... same position(forwards) the writing was on the wall...but he did get himself noticed around here. Good for him.....the cancer in the room thing ...I aint buying that...funny how some people turn on a guy Tony this and Tony that...I wouldn't give the kid a hard time ...just thanks for coming and all the best ...and can I help you pull the knife out of your back.....some people not only push it in but want to give it a twist

I heard from more then 1 source that he was a bit of an issue that coupled with him looking burned out in the Moncton game made me think he couldn't take 70+ games a year. It had to be one or the other and Knox is the better of the 2.

Knox's heart is the thing im worried about. if something happens then we will be screwed. I hope this isn't a problem there have been some players in various sports having heart problems including the 17 yr old in Ontario last year who died on the ice. At least he is doing something he loves and knows the risks.

We don't have a first round pick. I don't think he'll be there in the middle of the second round. The RNS A squad should be on your must-see list this winter. Post game/tourney times please.

You are right that we might not get the guy who will probably go in the first round, but there are several kids on that team who could go in some part of the draft. I will post there shed as soon is it is made...I know that as of right now they didn't get into the AAA high school league, a league they would have torn apart. Now they may be forced to stay in AA where they will go undefeated...They have 5 away tourneys and maybe 2 home ones...I'll let everyone know those times as well.

Sorry getting of the Resendes topic This thought has bothered me all day (just read this post). Andrew will probably be the first person to say he shouldn't play just because he's a hometown kid. Once you start that, it can put your whole credibility with the players in doubt: "he's giving the hometown kids extra time." Andrew would be in danger of being treated as an outsider too. Politics! Believe me when I say you want a team run on sound hockey decisions and nothing else. Remember Leland and every other coach that played that game. JB is taking the high road, and I really respect him for that.

Andrew had no chance. JB knew where he was going to be playing this year after he got drafted by Pictou.

Andrew had no chance. JB knew where he was going to be playing this year after he got drafted by Pictou. He likely wanted Langan to stay longer to gain more valuable experience so when he comes here next year he'll know exactly what he's gonna be up against and he'll know what to work on. It's makes sense for them to stay and workout with the team until it became time for them to move camp to Gagetown.
