Well no real surprise here I am glad this happend sooner rather then later. Knox is the better choice and will soon show why he belongs in this league.

agree with killer, knox belonged in this league for a long time and should have taken one of the many offers he was offered last year and the yera before.

I agree with killer "now" except i said that a couple posts ago, and Leland won't be as big a problem here. He doesn't run the show and he will be put in his place if push comes to shove. I also think a lot of the problems there were with him coaching his kids etc....

No lose, great decision. I watched both games, he is tooooooo small, does not move the puck. With his size he should be dishing off more than he does. At times trying to beat 2 and 3 guys when wingers and D wide iopen. From my perspective he def' had tunnell vision. Even though Knox did not show a ton Thursday, he is much better player than Resendes.

Fullerton is a great insurance policy until we see how great Mayer can be, I'm way more confident in net with Mayer-Fullerton than with Mayer -Dopud/StLaurent/Passingham/Dunnett/whoever. I doubt Fullerton plays as a backup the first half, more a platoon situation and riding the hot hand. If Mayer can physically and mentally handle a bigger load then probably Fullerton gone at XMas and make a trade for another 20. I get the sarcastic spin on Fullerton as 'the 20 year old backup', just don't think it's warranted. |

Could go with 3 goalies for awhile and maybe if it goes smooth during the course of those games we trade fullerton. We are allowed trading 20 year olds so maybe thats what we are doing carrying the 3 goalies for X amount of games and after that the decession will be made.. I think the roster we have now is pretty much set for the season. Gage town will be team building and getting the team set for the year.

No way Passingham gets the job done at this time. There had to be a way they could have found someone they were confident in to backup Mayer who wasn't 20, then gone out and got a 20 along the lines of a Peters/Pridham/whoever. Disappointing. |

Dopud and St Laurent were neither capable as being a backup in this league,so barring a trade we had nobody who could fill the role other then Fullerton and I think Berner is right they will split time during the first part of the season then let Mayer take over as the season progresses. |

When Resendes was still in the picture everyone talked about all his positives for the most part. Now he is cut and people are dumping crap on him and rumors and such. The kid can play. He is fast. I loved his effort. Too bad he wasn't discovered like 2 years ago. Not saying we should or shouldn't have taken him over Knox. Just that he came to try and make the team and gave it a good go. Good luck to him wherever he ends up this year. p.s. Hey Littlewolf...isn't there already a bash Leland thread? What does Leland and AAA parents have to do with Resendes? ;D |
