If Sparling goes I wouldn't expect much more than a 2nd RD pick from the Mooseheads if the trade happens and it may also be why the Sea Dogs picked up Francis Charland if healthy he'll be better than Sparling. If we can get a 2nd round pick for Sparling I'd say take it. We couldn't get that last year at Xmas and I'd have to think a Ryan Sparling at Xmas last year (as an 18 year old) is worth more than a Ryan Sparling to start this year (as a 19 year old). I doubt we even get a 2nd rounder for him is what I'm saying I guess, but if we can, take it. Anything less than that I say keep him and hope some surprise contender at Xmas is in need of scoring, and that Sparling is providing some, increasing his value. If all we can get right now is a third rounder or worse (which is what I expect is the case) we might as well keep him and hope he puts up numbers. (other than a typically huge +/-, emphasis on the minus.) ;D

Id much rather have Fullerton then Yetman as a 20. Yetman didnt prove much. Fullerton was an awesome back up goalie for Lewy. People have different oppinions. Some say the dogs will come last, 6th, 5th, one guy even said 2nd. Fullerton is a career backup. How is this even a debate? The debate would be Fullerton vs Kennedy, and even then, you take Kennedy because he's 19. Any possible argument for Fullerton as the guy is complete homer-ish. To even suggest that Fullerton would be a better fit on the Mooseheads is a joke. Yetman, has half a season experience. He's won a playoff series. Has Fullerton even played a playoff minute in two seasons? How can you say with a straight face the Yetman hasn't accomplished anything in your pro-Fullerton argument. Fullerton has accomplished even less, and Fullerton has 1.5 years more experience in the Q. Yetman was up and down towards the end of last season, but he showed enough potential. He played more games in a short priod of time than he ever has, and he didn't seem to have to conditioning required to play in this league. How many times have you watched Yetman play? Once.... if that. What exactly Are you basing your opinion on? The accomplishments are indisputable. I just think Fullerton is better and he would improve Halifax's chances this year, though not nearly as much as the expected trade will. He won't be traded to anybody unless JB gets them good and drunk first.

There's little question that I'd take Yetman over Fullerton. And Yetman plus the free 20 year old Peters (who was a 20+ goal scorer last year) over Fullerton is a no brainer. Yetman has more upside, actually has playoff experience and isn't a waste of a 20 year old spot.
And Yetman didn't exactly play for an awesome team last year either...

Bottom line is neither one of them is considered a solid #1 goaltender and Fullerton isn't going to be traded to Halifax can't see that happening at all they are not gonna use a 20 spot for Fullerton they are close to the same either way (Fullerton and Yetman) when it comes to overall ability.
Sparling is the guy that all the trade talk is about and I agree with Leask unless they are getting at least a 2nd RD pick or a half decent prospect (16 yr old) not a top tier guy but someone with some decent upside then I say keep Sparling he could put up some solid numbers this year 25-30 goals would not be out of the question for him this year.

Honestly I believe guys like Sparling and Dido will show even more this year. While I don;t think they compliment each other ie; PP and on a line together, they both love to handle the puck, they will be key players on the top 2 lines with MORE support than they ever had. I expect huge success for both.

Actually, Yetman ~is~ considered a solid #1 goaltender, just not on Halifax, given their particular line up and aspirations this coming season. Don't let the fact Halifax is looking to upgrade, as a negative towards Yetman. Yetman would be a #1 goaltender on most teams in the Q this season. Fullerton wouldn't be a #1 goaltender on any Q teams this season.

Looking forward to some impressions of practice today, of players and coaches. It's time to focus on reality.

That's 6 for sure. He's definite #1 on CB, Rim, Dru/HFX (if Pelletier is back in the Q, he's on the Mooseheads, so Yetman would be #1 on 1 of thsoe teams, depending on PO's status), Shaw, Rou. That's 5 for sure. The remaining teams I would say he's close with their respective #1's. Mior could get released in Gatineau. He's in a battle for an overage spot, and may not make their team. If he doesn't, Yetman would be #1 on Gat. If Dupont doesn't return to BaC, you can add that team to the list as well. Moncton and Bathurst are close, but IMO, Yetman is better than Riopel (as shown is last years playoffs) and I would take him over Tardif, though with Tardif's age and potential, he could be better than Yetman this year. IMO, Yetman gets at least 3 of those teams.

So whats that tell ya?

We dont all have a crystal ball ol' wise one Naw i didn't mean it like that I just meant, stats are only part of the argument...there are a lot of variables that go into them, especially when comparing players on different teams...

When it comes to goaltenders save percentage seems to be the best place to start though ,that is the one we always hear about. Even from the Pro scouts, but your right, put each on the other team and we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
