Things to look for at camp

Great post killer I agree almost 100%...

I spent most of my time following the notable newcomers...Anthony, Despres, Mayer, Knox...all seem like great additions and lived up to the hype. Anthony and Despres show loads of potential for the future but will add to the team this year as well. I was very impressed with Mayer, technically sound and very solid.

Rioux and Sparling stood out as players looking to prove something considering it was only day 1. Hopefully they continue this through training camp.

I thought Amyot and Grant looked okay but showed some rust.

I expect good things out of Stoddard this year but he appeared non existent today. He should pick it up as camp goes on.

It was nice to see J C Sawyer skate with the team for practice. Must be trying to keep sharp before he goes off to pro camp. He looked really good out there by the end of the skate.

i was suprised to see Sawyer out there today. Never clued in on who that player was wearing the QMJHL jersey but looked familiar. Then I noticed the Blackhawks logo on his helmet and figured it out.

Knox looks very small. Hope he is strong on his skates

Often happens. David Brine and Franklin MacDonald skated with the Mooseheads on Saturday.

I really really do not like you right now. I have the worst luck ever with jerseys. I sit through an off season of rumors of Stich going to be traded and think I am safe, and now he changes his effin number?

After 5 jerseys in two years there is no way in hell I buy another one this year.

The only real certainty I could tell from watching them practice Sunday was this. Might as well cut every defenseman right now that isn't named Grant, Stich, Sauve, Amyot, Despres, Rioux or McNeil. These new faces we brought in are no threat at all to those seven.

Yup, it will take something extra for the remainder of camp or a trade to bump one of these guys from the lineup. Just didn't see any real competition from the others. I think our defensive core is set.

I watched Mayer warm up for the forwards. My God is he ever flexible, his lateral movement was amazing, and he handled the puck like Felix. I don't know if he can stop a puck, but his physical skills are way up there on the charts.

Looking forward to the scrimmage today. I think this will give us an early impression on who can keep up with the big boys. I hope it's physical.

Any predictions for the scrimmage. I am pulling for Team White. They seem to be the team with all of the higher end prospects, ie Mayer, Anthony, Despres, Knox

Prediction: Langan pops three. Resendes gets two. Mugford gets welcomed by Thomas; be there early! Dunnet steals the show. Long shot: Amyot throws em with someone.
