I don't know that much French but if all we got for Knotek was Morin then that is brutal.

Makes 0 sense for a whole bunch of reasons.
Can't see the Moose doing because of value. Can't see the Moose doing it because of age, just calling up two 16 year old D and having 9 Dmen on the roster. And maybe the biggest reason... Russell: "Hey Knotek, would you like to go to VD?" Knotek: "Nope"
I love the trade talk... that rumor just doesn't make much sense.

The Mooseheads should sit down with Knotek and his agent and talk about what his plans are for next year - as an undrafted player the AHL is probably a long shot, so ECHL or Europe might be the only pro options.... He may want to stay an extra year in the Q under those circumstances, and keeping him is a no brainer.
If he is going pro, the Mooseheads should hold out for a high first round pick at least - something that will be scarce if only contenders are interested in him.
Of course, the question of reporting to another Q team is an intangible, as is what the Mooseheads would do with their high Euro draft pic in the coming year.

If they can get good return they'd be crazy to keep him as they can get a younger Euro with their early pick in June and not have to waste 2 spots on a Euro next year or take the chance that he pulls a stransky. I think Russell's intent is to move him unless the offers are bad.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Russell is getting some good interest in him and it's just a matter of findind the right deal and getting Knotek to agree. Plus for a team in their 2nd rebuilding year next year they have a chance to draft and high end euro, go with a good group of 20s in Grant, Bety and Dimitruk (I think Amyot will be moved) and add to their youth with whatever they get for Knotek. Unless Knotek himself is deadset on remaining a Moose I think a trade will happen.

Well Morin was traded to SNB for Lecomte, so we can put to bed that silly Knotek/Morin rumour

Keeping him as an OA/Euro is a no-brainer ? If you had a low Euro pick I might agree it is a good option ... but you have a high Euro pick plus the financial resources to entice a kid to come over to play here ... you can probably replace Knotek's output ... plus his leadership will be replaced from within. I'd actually say that drafting a new Euro next year is the "no-brainer" ... since you have the high pick.
