Can't see Knotek playing in the AHL next year. Has he even ever been invited to an NHL training camp, let alone drafted. He's been with Minnesota at their camp the past 2 years has he not? You are correct sir.

There was a deal for Knotek but he didn't want to go to Val D'or as he felt they weren't a bonafide contender. It would have been nice to get some extra parts but Cam respected his player here..... that might be lacking in parts elsewhere though Knotek has said he's not going back to Europe next year. His first option is AHL, but otherwise, it'll be the Q. It`s not like he`d be worthless in June. There`s always a handful of teams who don`t mind taking on 20 year old euro`s. This is news to me, and I like it! As elementz said, and I agree, I can't see Knotek sticking in the AHL. Here is to hoping he will accept a deal and doesn't needlessly take away his options/ not allow the Moose to collect assets. IMO the two biggest mistakes Cam could make is keeping Knotek this upcoming season and trading the import pick as well as playing Delmas as a 20 infront of MCT.

Well I mean if I'm going to see a movie the friday it comes out and I'm running late I'm going to see what other movies look interesting before i get to the cashier. But generally speaking, even if we don't win this bid for the 2012 Memorial Cup it would look like it will be our peak year. I'd rather have an import that has an extra year under his belt going into the season instead of having no buffer zone a 'tall to get use to the north american style of play. Same with Delmas to a lessor scale. MCT still has the experience but I don't want a starter gone backup gone starter again as my go to guy in a potential championship year. Then you'll say well we'd trade for one next year. Well I'd rather spend those assets on other areas which would appear to look like goal scorers as of today.

I doubt Knotek gets moved at the draft...id keep him, draft a new euro and head to camp with 3 euros and make a decision then.
The likely decision would be to move Knotek at camp...he would be worth more then than at the draft.

Why would a team deal for hom when they know if they wait long enough that he will be available to anyone anyway. Not like Halifax can keep him on a prtected list as hes a Euro and a 20 year old. Or am I wrong could he stay on the list.

He can stay on the 50-man list on the special list because he is 20 and a euro, but if he reports to camp...and wants to play in the league I believe Halifax would have to move him from the special list, to the main 50-man list.

The Titan got Svoboda for peanuts. You got to realize when you trade with Bathurst their will be NUTS involved, at some level. ;D

Coincidentally, the one team that it would make sense to trade him to is Bathurst. Their lack of scouting and unwillingness to spend on Euros make it the perfect place to trade a 20 year-old Euro.

Our needs will be more in goals and defense than forwards for next season...we will be deep at that position.

Yes, but you'd probably be acquiring Knotek for far less than he's worth, and it's not like you'd be bringing a better Euro. It's an unfortunate truth for the Titan.

You forgett that he would take a OA spot.....not worth at this point. Knotek, every time I saw him in Bathurst, was not over impressive.

From the rumour mill, the only offer the Mooseheads got for Knotek was from Vald'Or and "supposedly" Knotek declined to report there. If Knotek was not a looked for commodity this season at 19, why on earth would he be worth an offer at 20 taking 2 spots? There is a gap between Svoboda and knotek, that you admit it or not.....plus the Titan did not give anything away for Svoboda.
