Christopher, I'm not as concerned about Kyle Farrell's size as you are because this young boy is as dedicated as anyone could be and is very strong, despite his size. I'd be willing to bet that he scored very high in terms of fitness especially and even in the strength category during the Eagles' training camp! Also I don't know if anyone realized yesterday but the kid barley got hit. He was in and out of the corners and in the high traffic areas but managed to slip right through everyone. He also has great hockey sense, he reads the ice really well. I was impressed by him. I also don't understand why people are after Mario for making quick cuts. The only person he cut that I thought still should be here is Powell. Everyone else were out played by the players left in camp. I can't wait to see more or Grenier, Jodion , Plouffe and the Carrier's they actually could be building blocks if they keep developing. Regular season is different than pre-season. I just don't want to see some bonehead crush him.

Honestly thought what did you see from Sunday's game that tells you that Jodion, Plouffe and young Carrier don't have bright futures in this league.

No doubt about that ! ............but do you honestly think they will be Top 6 Forwards for a Memorial Cup Contender in 18 months ? Outside of Ellis we really don't have a Top 4 Defenceman for a Championship Run , Larade and Herritt as Top 4 dee next year ? There are major differences between those kids having Bright Futures and being elite . Let us not forget that we have a 17 year old Veteran goalie ( 4 starts ) , that we haven't factored in yet ! I hope I am wrong ..............maybe Mario has a New Crystal Ball ..........because I am hoping someone smashed the one he had last year !

There's no way that every young player with potential is going to become a elite player. As for our top for defence for next season. It's looking like its going to be Ellis, Woodworth, Euro and who knows what could be brought in via trade. Again I'm not saying they are elite defencemen for a championship team. But it's not Herret and Larade as you just stated. I think we are better suited going for 2013 but I don't think we will be as bad as everyone thinks. People thought that in 08, but hard work overcame the lack of skill and "elite" players and we had one hell of a season.

No talent on the back end yeah ok. I guess Ellis and Woodworth have no talent. One is NHL drafted and one was invited to the under 18 team Canada camp. Not to mention JS Fournier had a solid year last year. Don't get me wrong this is not a top defence but to say there is no talent at all is far fetched. He means as a whole...your dmen in the 4-8 range are kinda brutal. Ok sorry I thought he meant there was no talent at all. I agree 100% after our top 4 possibly even top 3 we are very weak on the back end. We could have been in alot better shape but we all know what happened last year and what should have happened. As always thanks for your insight Lala.

I liked Riguse I thought he had 4th line potential I really think Berg and Macintosh are on the outs, (Sad to say) Same as Parker, It will be a rough final cut Bergeron is the only one I would cut of the three mentioned. Parker is only 17 and is still developing, you guys are so quick to throw kids away after a ex game or a few intersquad games. Hold on Art, Im not throwing the kids away, I think MacIntosh is a great hockey player for a 3rd or 4th liner, He CAN play in the league, Berg on the other hand is in the same boat but I find he is the odd man out in this "re-building stage" for Cpt Mullet, Nick is a great player as well and is only young and would love to see any of the 3 stay on the roster if not all them, but unfortunitly givin the player that showed up at camp with there skill I dont figure there will be any room for them with these "Buliding blocks" trying to crack the lineup for not just this season but for 2012, Because I can here Mario now, "Your not just trying to make the team this year, your trrying to make the team for our run next year as well" Larade on the other hand Art, was HORRIBLE at the game on Sunday, Cough up after another and Bad passes, even though we dont have much its not gonna be good even he ends up being our 7th Dman. Does anyone think Jake Guindon got cut because Mario has a strong sence then Jacob will be back? Given his comments about the ECHL? ( I hope not and he tries the waiver wire but we all know Mario and his bag of tricks do we not?) IMO

IMO No I think he was cut because as a 20 he didn,t show enough .He was playing against kids as much as 5 years his Junior and didn`t dominate . He coughed up the puck on more than a couple of occasions .

Wow quite surprised that Powell got cut as I thought he looked quite impressive on Friday night with good skills.
Although I am not shocked that Millman didn't make your team I am thinking that a 17 yr old with that kind of enforcer potential would be great on the Rocket.
If I were Savard I would certainly offer a 7th/8th round pick for him.

If Millman was that 6`5 PEI kid then Mario is insane for not giving him a chance. He was an excellent skater for a 6`5 230 pounder enforcer. Just teach him some positional play and he wouldn't hurt you.

From today's Herald:
Among the players to survive the cut were recent draft picks Loic Leduc, William Carrier, Kyle Farrell, Vincent Boudreau-Plouffe and Olivier Jodoin. None of those come as a surprise because Durocher has said all along those players had roster spots to lose.
Durocher said he may make one more cut next week if he feels it’s best to get down to 24 players and will likely keep some of his depth veterans on the bubble as the season progresses.
"We had some free agents and some invite guys that did pretty well that we had to cut this morning," Durocher said. "Some of them were really close to making the team. I will keep evaluating some of our vets that will be playing fourth line, to give them another three months to show me what they can do. If not, I know I’ve got two or three young guys that can jump in."
