Christopher, if you take Mario at his word, MacIntosh, Bergeron and maybe Parker (wasn't he considered as a returning veteran last Spring but Riguse was named then also, so?) are safe for 3 months. Then you had the group that had positions to lose and haven't lost them yet so that sort of leaves the older Carrier, Grenier and maybe Engert as the players most at risk. But then again, I've misunderstood Mario before. I think the D here are safe....it's the forwards that are playing for a job.

MacIntosh and Bergeron might be kept around for trade bait at xmas... and depending on how things go, dont rule out other assets like Dion or MacDougall. Saw the B&W game sat evening and Parker looked badly out of shape. How did he fair Sunday?

Trade Bait ?? MacDougall , Horyll and whoever Mullet brings in as his next 20 year old experiment are your Trade Bait . What would MacIntosh or Bergeron deliver to help our 6 headed Hockey Braintrust build our Memorial Cup Winner for the magical 2011-2012 Season !

Hate to put it this way but what are MacDougall and Horyl going to deliver? Neither guy right now is an impact 20 and 1 likely isn't leaving since he'd only come here to begin with. Our only legit trade bait right now is Morgan Ellis...and for those who think i'm nuts....go check out what Lewiston turned Eric Gelinas into last year.

...and by trading Ellis you lose your elite Dman, our cornerstone of the Mem Cup season
...and by not trading Ellis, as JB mentioned, we have no assets to bring in any veteran talent or young talent, even
Darned if we do, darned if we don't

I'm not sure how else you rebuild this team unless you believe in Mario's plan of through the draft without any top picks because while that will get us some solid players it's no way to build a team.

Okay...this new and improved picture-of-positivity Bois kinda sucks, and is already getting annoying.

My thinking is that Horyl might agree to playing 3 months for a Team that has one...........a shot at it and 2 .........considers him to be an upgrade on what they have now . As far as the Memorial Cup Bid being political to get the renovations....................then why did they bring in all these great Hockey Minds ?

What's the point of a message board if we're all going to "wait and see"? I see no harm in discussing the teams options right now, it's not like they'll be drastically different at Xmas. And you need to let the renovation thing go....the team wouldn't be still hiring people and still talking about hosting if they weren't going all out for it....part of me admires their drive to go for it regardless and see what happens....but the other part of me is the realist wondering why the money is being spent on a pipe dream instead of on the product which puts you in a better position to host then a 10 man front office does anyway.
