Definitely sounded disappointed. You could tell he was pissed that they didn't get the players they really wanted, but did get a couple they were high on. It sounds like the 2 Americans will at least be at camp, but who knows. Disappointed? Pissed? What video were you watching exactly?

Well, Cam didn't have a smile on his face that I could see, which could indicate disappointment.

Hoping Resop is as good as his numbers. If he is, I think he could be our starter once Zach goes pro. Nice size for a 17 year old.

This may be a stupid question, but can anyone here compare the QMEAA to the QMAAA? Just not sure what the QMEAA is. I believe QMEAA is Quebec Midget Espior double a. It's a feeder league for QMAAA. QMEAA is a feeder but year after year it's getting better. You can find really good players who didn't go to the AAA camp because of the costs and settled for QMEAA.

Do u think O'Leary was they guy they wanted, but missed out on? If he won't report to CB maybe the Moose can make a deal for him.

Very surprising and disappointing for us that CB took O'Leary with the 14th pick. That's a big gamble for them.
I wonder what the full story is? Did CB take him to try to pull an Erne type deal with us because he had an agreement to play here? Doesn't seem smart to waste a 1st rounder on a guy not even at the draft and with all due respect to the Eagles organization, it doesn't seem like a place O'Leary would give up his NCAA rights to play at.
Should be an interesting summer and training camp listening to rumours about O'Leary, Marino, Krys and a few other Americans/NCAA commits and their intentions.
Cam really needs to land these 2 Americans (Marino and Resop) because if they are no-shows, this draft doesn't look very promising outside of Crossley.

I am assuming there must have been some communication with him and we did pick him. Although picking Roy worked out well for us the rules apparently have changed. Maybe we picked him to trade him, but I think that would be plan B.

That will in all likelihood be a high pick... I'd be tempted.

When John asked him if he was happy with the draft, he hesitated before answering, and definitely struggled to find the right words. Maybe pissed is a bit of a stretch, but it's clear they did not get the players they were targeting.

You hope a couple of players fall to you, but sometimes that doesn't happen.
Picking where they were (late), the draft is a crap shoot. You take the best player available (if that best player available plays a position where you have a need, all the better); it gives you flexibility and an asset you can move down the road for help in other areas if necessary.
You hope to hit on a couple of players who outperform their ranking and/or draft selection.

Two 1sts and three 2nds yesterday, 3 1sts and I think 3 2nds next year. They can afford the gamble, and they get a 2nd for OLeary if they release him for not reporting. If it is an Erne type thing, I doubt you will see the Mooseheads go two 1sts and a 2nd like Quebec did. Only way I see Oleary in Halifax is if CB releases him next year and Halifax drafts him, or if Halifax become sellers and deal Matt Murphy. Kind of defenceman the Eagles need.

I wouldn't trade for O'Leary. Have patience, if he doesn't report to CB, the eagles will release him for the compensation pick, then draft him with a low pick next year.
