I was thinking the top pick in the QMJHL Midget Draft. I agree that a top 6 pick in the Euro Draft would be sufficient; they should get an elite player at that spot. You finish bottom 2 and there is a lottery so it is 50/50 for first overall. The only way that likely happens is, CB make some positive moves, Bathurst shuffle pays off enough, Chicoutimi buys and Halifax sells large. Other division teams likely sell too but I expect being the worst in The Maritime division gets you bottom 2. Often really bad teams sell and do better via the traded player bump up. They want to show what they got and sucking bad, before trading, leaves no where to go but up. I don't know how this coming draft is looking in terms of elite players; we'll find that out as the season goes along. The last time the Mooseheads have had the no. 1 overall pick they took Etienne Drapeau in their expansion year; the last time they had the no. 2 pick they took Jonathan Drouin.

Full time GM experience should make for better decisions which we have seen in a Memorial Cup. Trading down is better than having to trade up even though its still dreaming at this point.

I agree with you on these.
