Lol yeah he beat Ford, he's a rookie with like three fights, yup he would have beat falkenham definitely not a fighter but one hell of a captain. But if you play the chippy style like pickard does, then why turtle against a guy like Bent. Who by the way doesn't half to win fights, he's loose and that's what matters, he will fight anyone in the league un like pickard, who takes cheap shots and fights young rookie players. Yup he's a winner. Another classy player on a classy team. Pickard is also a rookie and Ford has like 6 fights. What's your point? Or is it just crying? But remember Pickard had already had a fight. Pickard would not worry about kelly bent

Your sniffing around my question Why not fight Bent in that situation who gives a sh.it whether he beat him before or not we are talking about this game not the past, last place team taking runs at teams making playoffs. And you defend that. Speaks miles about you and your opinion. So why Turlte against Bent? If he's such a tough guy? Maybe he's not stupid and realizes that Bent will take a penalty and they still had a chance to win the game? Maybe he doesn't want to fight for the second time in a game and get kicked out?

They had about as much chance to win that game as I do being the president of the United States, once halifax woke up and realized they were in the basement playing with the dwellers, game changed drastically. There's no denying that. Halifax 7 last place team 4

Think you better re watch the first fight between the two. I would call it a good fight, with no clear winner. You call it pickard tuning up bent lol give me a break. I don't need to re watch it. Pickard won that fight easily. Stop being a homer Bent is a great team-mate and fearless but he is a terrible fighter.

Francis got 2 games, and Crossley was hurt I can't believe it the Q is a Joke.(I believe that should be 5, the message the clowns are sending is it's okay to hurt someone and you just get a slap on the hand)

I was at the game and my view was obstructed by the penalty-scorers box. There is no good enough angle on that play to be suspending a guy 5 games. They gave him 2 games but that had to be on result of play and any testimony of the refs. And the offender is not known as a dirty player. Its too bad I guess...but I still have yet to see that hit from an angle that makes it worth 5 games. I am surprised he got any games. So they did the best they could. Often times refs testimony alone is not fair enough. That video is critical for a league disciplinary process.

And people may not like this but Ehlers does go down very easy. Too many times.
Is he targetted? Well maybe but the opponents should stay close to him. If he wants to suceed in pro playing that way he needs to fight through it and stay more on his feet. He drew penalties twice vs Charlottetown by staying on his feet.
Take the antlers off for a minute and realize that all u need to do is embarass a ref once or twice and his tolerance to blow a whistle gets a little higher. This is the case with Kelly Bent every game. Reputation is he always acts like he was shot and so he gets abused badly usually with no call. Sometimes it works and he draws calls but refs watch the film. They get calls wrong and hear about it.
Diving - can be a more intentional thing. I do not think Ehlers is a diver..but define to an outsider that does not see him every game the difference between falling too easy and diving and its a hard thing to do. Clearly the refs do not want another coach blaming them for falling for it.. Ehlers may be more guilty of selling some calls.
Hey Moose fans remember the January game in Quebec when Fucale (a Rempart) flopped as Ehlers skated by and the ref bought it? That was a dive. It worked and helped Quebec win that game. So it happens. Even likable hard working almost Moose-like players do it.
Most of what Ducharme is complaining about is how Ehlers is not getting the calls lately. I did not like when he got the unsportsmanlike calls which is worse...because a would be PP becomes a SH situation. Right now if Ehlers went to the NHL and continues to fall as easily as he has been he will a) not stay b) be fined a few times even if it was not on purpose or c) be taught by his coaches to stay upright and sell it better -
If he is diving lately he is really bad at it.
If he plays an honest game - and mostly he is - refs will penalize the other team more...and to this point (antlers off) he has at times over 2 seasons got calls he should not have got. He has over sold some fouls and gotten away with it like good players can. Just there is balance that needs to be met or those refs who are human will make the wrong call and often times be embarrassed and called out later.

Testimony is maybe they should open their eyes Crossley was already against the boards and Francis nailed him from behind, Dom was irate and rightfully so. I don't care if he's not known as a dirty player it was a dirty hit because I can almost guarantee you if a Halifax player hit someone like that it would have been five games, I'm sick of Halifax being treated like this by the Maritime refs; blast me if you want guys because I've had just about enough of incompetent refs. Crossley is hit from behind, and all they do is give Bathurst a slap on the hand; if I recall correctly I thought they were tying to take hitting from behind out in hockey. (Would be nice if we could find a nice video of the hit)

Actually quite funny watching the banter back and forth Some obviously have no idea what the instigator/aggressor call is and or for. Second of all. Packard did the right thing. No need to fight. Bent should of waited and faught later against someone to prove a point. Unfortunately bent is about 1 for 40. Should of actually faught the next couple of shifts. Bent first. Next shift cubic. Then next moniyhan then hardie. Prove your point that way. Grabbing Packard who had nothing to do with it was only begging for aggressor and major. Also he got 2 games as one is automatic and second was for accumulation of penalties

Maybe Pickard doesn't want to fight Bent because he's worried he drops the gloves and Bent skates away to leave him with a minor penalty.
Bent has been pulling that stunt for 4 seasons now.
