Remps outshooting the Cats but lots of shots from far.
The commentator sure has a hard on for Duclair.
Good tight game so far. Animosity is starting.

After just finishing a 7 game series with one days rest probably would have been wise to utilize monctons 4th line more in this game. They have better offensive numbers than 3rd line in overall playoffs with very limited icetime. Certainly not suggesting that they move up in rotation but the big guys were showing fatigue in this game. However Moncton showed signs in this game that they can possibly compete for this series. IF they have gas in the tank for 60 minutes.Imo

PP's 2 for Moncton, none for Quebec after 1... Steve must be pissed. No ... Quebec didn't get away with anything Moncton didn't get away with. Refs called a good game ... we took some bad penalties that were deserved.

Sure cost them on that last PP. they both had ample opportunity to change and did not. Nice to see Rumble only play line 3 and 4 for the final few minutes. Was best shifts of the 3rd. As for Dubeau what great saves he made tonight. He played very well. Defence sure didn't help him out on the 4 that went by him. Hope Rumble adjusts for Saturday's game and plays the grinders more.

I doubt he will but hopefully so. When playing playoff games every other night the grinders on any team become as meaningfull as anyone else in the lineup. Wearing down the opposing team with hard fore checking and finishing hits create better advantages for the big guns. And yes Dubeau played great!! Could have been a total blowout early in this one. He needs better close in defensive zone coverage than what he got tonight. But hey, it's one game. At least there were some positives to take away in the loss.

My two cents(and probably worth just as much). Cats were physically and mentally fatigued tonight, there was a brief time late in first life was there but for most part just steps behind. I give Dubeau full marks even with this loss. Finally, from what I observed the Cats can handle Quebec for a team that had plenty of time off from their second round win. I imagine some of our players are banged up especially from the second round with Halifax but with some rest(if there is such a thing) we can give Remparts a good run. Hopefully won’t go down in four.

Great performance last night from Dubeau. Sadly, I am not convinced he will be able to continue at that pace...we have seen it before. Consistency from him has been hit or miss....and I believe Quebec is just too strong for us to battle it out with. On a side note Tchachev seemed "at home" last night...
Hoping they can split here before heading to Quebec. Being down 2-0 to Halifax is one thing, I don't us being able to bounce back like that again against the Remps.
Attendance was what I expected...Saturday should be better (weather permitting). Its been a damp, rainy week and if Saturday is warm and sunny it could keep folks away.
Go Cats Go!!!

Why is the attendance so horrible for a Semi-Final game? You mock Fucale, but you might be eating crow after this series.

Don't let the box score fool you, Fucale did not make anyone on this board eat crow yesterday. He was a complete non-factor. He did make a nice save on Garland but Garland couldn't lift the puck.

Fucale played well ... but was not tested ... we didn't have the legs and didn't have the emotion elevated enough to make it difficult for him. Why do you care what our attendance is ? In my best Moose Board imitation ... "Go back to your own board troll !!"

I want the Q to be successful here, so we are able to keep all the teams going here...well, maybe not Bathurst. lol.

Playoffs is typically considered bonus revenue anyway. Gotta pay for 2 new euros somehow! I think the quick turnaround to this series plus Thursday vs Friday really hurt the crowd. I originally expected between 4000-4500 for this game so I was surprised to see ~3300. I am guessing had it been Friday it would have been easily 4000. Saturdays game should be well attended.

Refs called a good game ... we took some bad penalties that were deserved. I call BS, the refs were PATHETIC as always! Yes, Barbs took a bad penalty, but how did Dubeau end up on his ass while the refs were watching that sequence and why was there no call when #15 gave Garland two shots in the face in front of the ref? Lot's of hooks and grabs by Quebec go un-noticed while they call every single one on Moncton. I am convinced the refs have been given direction on what to call, unfortunately, Moncton is not from Quebec!

I didn't find the officiating bad last night. I thought the hooking call on Barbs was soft (from my vantage point), and there was one missed call on Que, but other than that, I can't recall anything blatant either way that upset me.
