I personally think it extremely unlikely Cats will take first place in the Maritime Division as this appears to be the thrust of the thread. As for post-season, yes Cats are there but I think it is fair commentary to suggest going beyond that may be in jeopardy, depending the final outlook. If that is negative, so be it.

How am I flogging anything? Just posting the stats. Maybe you should go back into hibernation for 6 more months, you don't seem to have anything to add to any discussion. Funny that a moderator is one of the worst trolls. If he was a shitty troll you wouldn't have responded

I can certainly see why people would be annoyed with this thread continuing on as...
a) First place in the division was a foregone conclusion weeks ago. The Cats could win out (highly unlikely) and they probably still wouldn't finish first.
b) It's a constant reminder of how badly the Cats blew it in the second half. I doubt any of the extremely displeased fans need to be reminded of this over and over again. If anything you would think it would be a troll Sea Dogs fan keeping this thread going, not a Moncton poster.

***WARNING THIS IS NOT FOR SOME OF THE SENSITIVE LITTLE EARS ON THIS BOARD****
****WARNING IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT< PLEASE STAY AWAY*****
St John won again last night(now 4 straight)
SJ has 84 points in 60 games Cats have 76 in 61 games
The Cats would basically need to win the last 7 games to have a chance.
For 6th place, Rimouski is 4 points back with both teams having 7 games left.
Current playoff matchup: Charlottetown in 11th place

Actually, Chicoutimi is 11th and would be the Cats opponent. Chicoutimi is 10, Charlottetown is 11, they have one less game played. Chi would get Rimouski. Charlottetown has the first tie-breaker: Regulation+OT wins with 27 (29 - 2 shootout wins), Chicoutimi only as 24 (28 - 4 shootout wins).

The Q site ranks Charlottetown 10th and they are more relevant for this than yahoo sports. That is the first tie-breaker.

You might want to take a look at the Q standings then.

The Q site defaults to wins because at year end it goes to that because everybody has the same games played so they don't bother plugging it in. Anybody with common sense would know that a team with the same points but one game in hand is ahead...unless the person just wants to be anal and question anything. Anyways, bottom line, if things play out as per the standings, Char will finish 11th with one less point than Chicoutimi.

Sorry but possible wins don't count in the standings, especially in the lower half.

At this point the cats are projected to play Charlottetown, you can play with words all you want, that's what the standings say.
