The way things are going lately, I wouldn't be surprised if Cape Breton and Charlottetown finish above the Wildcats.

Projected final rankings...
1-Rouyn-Noranda 108 4-Val d'Or 107 2-Shawinigan 95 3-Saint John 94 5-Gatineau 92 6 Moncton 89 7-Rimouski 82 8-Quebec 74 9-Cape Breton 72 10-Victoriaville 72 11-Chicoutimi 72 12-Charlotteown 67 13-Drummondville 63 14-BBA 62 15-Sherbrooke 61 16-Bathurst 61 17-Halifax 51 18-Baie Comeau 26
Right now matchups would be...
1-RN-16-Hal/She 2-Shawinigan 15-Hal/She 3-Saint John 14-BBA 4-Val d'Or 13-Drum 5-Gatineau 12-Char 6-Moncton 11-CB/Chi/Vic 7-Rim 10-CB/Chi/Vic 8-Que 9-CB/Chi/Vic

Quebec has 2 wins in January but you have them playing 500 hockey here on out. You have PEI staying behind Quebec and they have been slowly catching up at this point. Quebec will drop, PEI will move up, and either Moncton or Saint John will move up. Moncton can not keep losing like this without something happening.

I believe he took every team's point percentage and extrapolated it over 68 games.

Thats what I was trying to say you said it better. I think it will not be that simple as some teams have changed a lot since trade period. Plus as we push to the end some teams will fight harder some less. Last year Halifax rose in the finals standings changing where they pick with 1 big reason Moncton iced a weak team for their final game. Little did we know then that actually that was not the case. As Moncton squeaked by Halifax in the play-offs. At this point it is all about Draft picks, because Halifax, Moncton, and Bathurst would all be lucky to even win 1 play-off game.

For instance, Quebec before Xmas 21-12-3-0 - 45 points (.625%) Quebec after Xmas 3-8-2-0 66 - 8 points (.308%) I'd be more inclined to project them to finish with about 66-70 points, based on their current record since the trade period. By the same token; Charlottetown before Xmas 13-19-2-1 - 29 points (.414%) Charlottetown after Xmas 8-3-3-1 - 20 points (.667%) I'd have their projected total points between 68 and 72 points Now, obviously, their is a margin for error. My point is, I don't expect Quebec to play .540 hockey the rest of the way, nor do I expect Charlottetown to play .414, so your extrapolated numbers are skewed for some teams.

Sea Dawgs won last night, now up by 2 points with 2 games in hand...
SJ has 70 points in 51 games...17 left Cats have 68 points in 53 games...15 left
If SJ gets 17 points(8-8-1) in 17 games, Cats need 20 in 15 to pass them, 10-5-0 If SJ keeps up their current pace(23 points 11-5-1), the Cats will need to go 13-2-0 to pass them.
Obviously the two head to head games will be huge. Next 2 games(Rim and Bat) are huge with Gatineau, VD and RN in a week.

That trip to Gatineau and northern Quebec could be a killer- that trip is like the equivalent of an Eastern Conference NHL team going thru LA, SJ and Anaheim.

I could be mistaken but I think SJ still has that same trip coming up. If they do then hope the Wildcats do better during the trip than Saint John does or at least pull even. At least the Mooseheads had that broken up as they played RN and VD up there a couple weeks ago- not that it made any difference in the final result of no points but they did give the Foreurs a bit of a scare.

SJ has basically the same trip, I think they play Sha instead of Gat. However, if both teams go 0-3 it helps SJ as the Cats are the ones needing to make up ground.

Moncton also has a game in Bathurst Saturday, and we could have most of our injured playe s back and we usually play Moncton hard. Not an automatic win foot Moncton.

Here is the remaining SJ schedule. With the exception of the tough upcoming road trip to QC next week, looks decent.
Home(8) BC CHI HAL DRU BAT x 2 CHA MON
Away(9) SHA RN VD HAL CHA MON BAT CB x 2
