Lol. Gotcha. When they met with Barron and his family, Baie-Comeau were told he wouldn't report there because there's no english school. When Ahern pointed out there was indeed an english school, Barron Sr seemed surprised. There's a French school here in CB. I'm sure someone from Quebec would find that as laughable as the kid from Halifax would find the English school in a remote Quebec town. You're telling kids looking at University in 2 years and are from a city with some of the best in the region that your local English high school will be fine for them. It's still apples and oranges.

A quick google search tells me that Baie Comeau High School has a current enrollment of 60 kids from kindergarten to grade 11 ... so while it may be better than nothing - it is not a comparable option to what a player could get in other centres ... hence why English players do not want to go there.

Yeah that sounds like the same model of our French school here in Sydney. I don't think any of our players attend it but I could be wrong.

Yeah, and we can all trust Ahern to tell the truth about how exactly the conversation went Well, we can say for sure if the conversation had gone in his favor, Barron would be a Drakkar now. I'm just saying I think it's stupid to bring the school excuse when really it isn't the reason. He just wanted to play in Halifax.

Stupid is arguing that the small English school in a remote Quebec town is on par with what Halifax, or even Moncton, Sydney, Charlottetown, Saint John, Montreal, and Quebec City can offer school wise for an English speaking kid entering his final years of high school.

And Angelo Esposito rigged it so he ended up in Quebec... so did Anthony Duclair and Callum Booth #glasshouses

I'm not arguing what Barron did was wrong. Just saying the truth is that it was Halifax or nothing. I don't think school was really a reason.

You forgot Sherbrooke. Sherbrooke can offer even better than Quebec City in that regard because of the prominent english community and their university.

Halifax is better for an alumni who wants to stay close to family....alleluja!

We are talking High School here... Stop your BS about High Schools being at the University level for sake...... I have never seen a so much entrenched poster on these boards. Open your horizons a bit please. Your habit of downgrading what is not in your standards does not make any of these destinations a substandard one except in your mind. We are all entitled to our opinions but please respect others'...

We are all entitled to our opinions but please respect others'... What comes after high school? This isn't 1947 kids don't leave school at 18 for middle class jobs. Where/How are 2 people having a rational conversation in this thread not respecting each other? The rest of us are having a discussion. You making it personal is not respecting it because you have zero, ZERO, rebuttal about the facts I am using so you try to attack me to weaken my argument. Not all high schools are the same. Not all Universities are. Nobody said they were at the same level themselves that was you not knowing how to read. Not the first time. You can take this chance to apologize for that if you like but I can't help that you can't fully understand the conversation others are having. My horizons are very open. I've had many good conversation with others on this topic. Nobody can say that about you though.

If he'd stop worrying about who he is responding too and respond to the content he'd have a much easier time.
