The Vancouver Stealth had tickets as low as $22.95 on the ends. www.stealthlax.com/single-game-tickets/The Buffalo Bandits play out of a bigger arena, but it had single lower bowl tickets for around $33 last year. bandits.com/article/BANDITS%20ANNOUNCE%202017-18%20TICKET%20PRICESI'd be happy paying $33 for a lower bowl ticket. I'd like it to be lower, but $33 is doable. I know the family argument will come up that "It'll cost over $100 to take a family of four to a single game" But this is professional sports, so hopefully the adult market will be there to support the team.

Pro sports aren't meant for families of 4 for lower/middle class families. People don't like to hear that but it's the truth. You're looking at almost $1000 in some markets to take a family of 4 to an NHL game. That's a monthly mortgage payment for some families. MLB comes closest to the affordable level because you can sit 500 feet away for cheap. But the minute you want something to eat and wash it down with for those 4 people you're into a $250 or so outing in some stadiums. I know many people in big cities with pro teams. It's not time or distance that keeps them from attending games. It's money. It's easier to justify $200-$300 for a night out to see your favorite band once every couple years they roll through town then it is to spend that for a night out to see a local sports team play game 20 of 82.

$20-$25 would be reasonable $20 is low end for a pro sports team. That's what some Q teams charge now to compare. If the experience is good then $50-$60 is fine for a 9 game season for good seats in a nice arena like Halifax has. That's on par with say the last UFC Fight Night event held in Halifax. Half the cost of a big name concert act in most cases. Not sure you can expect much less for a pro team playing a short season. There isn't a higher level of lacrosse. Unlike the local "pro basketball" league that is more like 2-3 levels below the higher levels.

The good news about the NLL is that it is only nine home games. I know Mooseheads attendance tends to go down when they play on a Tuesday evening and they're in game 3 of a stretch of 5 home games in two weeks. It looks from the Saskatchewan Rush's schedule linked below, that they alternate home and away games. And they typically only play one game per week. So there will usually be two weeks between home games. It also looks like all the regular season games are on either Friday or Saturday nights. So no weekday games means better attendance also. www.nll.com/schedule/?myteam=38725I can't find any accurate or recent info on NLL league attendance. I'd like to know what a market like Halifax would expect to draw for a regular season game.

Also since we are taking over the Rochester Nighthawks team, they wen to the finals last season, and have won 3 championships in a row before. I think this is the best thing for Halifax, I'm not sure how a true expansion team would do here. Also they have a lot of work ahead of them, they really have to help the grass roots of lacrosse to grow in Nova Scotia. Maybe some sort of outdoor training camp exhibition in the commons, players visiting schools etc. I would also say in other city's they allow the kids to go on the floor after the games and they can meet the players, which is huge in a pro sport. How many seats in the lower bowl? I sort of expect the upper bowl to be blocked out I'm just not sure I see it being "that" popular but we can hope. The Number I heard is they need 4500 a game to succeed, which is a steep number and it will take some work and a competitive team to get.
I was at the press conference, and I have to say Mike Savage talked about the Soccer team coming way too much.

Great news for Halifax! I watched a few games when TSN used to show the NLL games, looks like I'll have to catch a game or two.

The last thing I would say is this, they seem to be trying to match up our rivals to be other Canadian teams, but I'd say Boston would be our ideal rival city.

I was just reading that the population of Rochester was 208,000 as of 2016. That is quite a small city to have a team when u have Toronto and Vancouver in the league. So the owner doubles his potential fanbase by moving to Halifax. I guess Halifax is small too compared to Toronto and Vancouver as well.

A couple more tidbits of information: - You can currently put down two types of deposits for Season Tickets, however there is no information that I can see on how much Season Tickets will be. halifaxnll.wpengine.com/ticket-information/- Halifax would be the 2nd smallest Metro area to have an NLL team in 2019. The Saskatchewan Rush are the smallest, and they averaged 11,737 fans in their first season of 2016, and 14,639 last year. Average league attendance is 9,411. If Halifax could emulate the Rush's success, the team could actually out-grow the Scotiabank Center. The league commissioner is concerned about the size of the SBC according to the article below. canadianews.org/halifax/2018/09/13/420235-league-commissioner-hopes-halifax-lacrosse-teams-popularity-will-require-arena-expansion.htmlIf the Halifax NLL team sells out every game, it could create the opportunity to final expand the north-end of the SBC. I think it is designed to be expanded if required. That would help the Mooseheads in the long run as well, as they'd make more money in the years they sell out both regular season and playoff games. I'm sure there will be an argument to just build a new arena rather than expand on a 40 year old arena. But the downtown location of the SBC I think is too good to even consider building elsewhere. It brings a lot of business downtown.

Isn't Duke St right on top of the building...well I think there is a walkway around the outside on that end. Is that where they would expand.

But I know I saw somewhere that the north end of the SBC is designed to extend the upper bowl all the way around. I'm not an architect, but I assume they have enough room on the duke street size to go up and out, without impacting the street.
