That MIGHT get Molson's attention ... looks good on them. Put a crap product on the ice, and watch your revenue plummet - and yes, I realize that this is not technically the team losing money, but rather the broadcaster, but I am sure it will have a direct impact when it comes time for rights renewals. And is probably also relfective of ad revenues inside the Bell Centre.

Single game tickets went on sale this past Saturday and from what I have seen online it was a lot easier getting into the system to buy tickets than say 5-10 years ago.

It is a mistake because Bergevin has forced himself into a retool/rebuild by his stupidity and on Molson for not firing him already. These two jackasses have been dragged kicking and screaming into doing the rebuild/retool. I put more fault on Molson than Bergevin now for the state of the Habs.

You can say Bergevin made a mess last season...waited too long on Markov and Radulov and was left holding the bag. But the year before they were 7th overall and won their division with 103 points. They lost in 6 games to a 102 point team in NYR.

And how much of the core that formed the 2014 and 2015, when they had a legit shot at winning a Cup, teams is left?
The worst thing is that Molson has pigeon-holed himself into only considering French speaking candidates to replace Bergevin and the best candidate to fulfill the role is off the market now with Julien Brisebois taking over for Yzerman in Tampa Bay.

I agree that Molson has created a bad precedent in saying that the coach and GM need to be francophone. I think at the time Bergevin was a similar candidate to Brisebois now, he was a rising star with a team that had a lot of success in Chicago. Maybe he was or wasn't the best choice, but he was a legit option for anybody. Some of the 14 and 15 players are now retired or past their prime, others who were to be incoming help did not pan out(Tinordi/Beaulieu). If I put one major fault on Bergevin it's not making a big move at center 4-5 years ago and hoping they could turn Galchenyuk into a C. They may have had to overpay but other have filled that hole. He's gone the other way now, stockpiling young C's.

If Bergevin had added the right players they would have with the way Price was playing in 2014 and 2015. It's a shame all the teams that wanted to jettison young star centers were in the East. Seguin and Johansen were traded to the western conference for a reason. But I don't necessarily think trades were to blame for the Habs not getting over the hump, for me it's the lack of success in drafting. The number of impact players that came into the Habs system through the draft over the last 5 to 7 years has been minimal. Outside of Gallagher and Galchenyuk, there has been no new blood to bolster the lineup. If we hit one one or two players that developed into solid NHLers, if just one guy developed into a #1 center, the Habs had a shot to win a cup in 2015. But, alas, we never had that.
