Quite the win for the Caps to come back down 5-1 the other night. Was worth staying up to watch.

that Bruins top line is just ridiculous right now...... nice to see a team keep a top line together like that as opposed to constantly trying to create a second scoring line by taking someone off the top unit

Bruins are simply flying right now... only one regulation loss this year
52 goals scored
Pastrnak 14 Marchand 14 Bergeron 7
67 % of all goals scored by that line..... is it sustainable? you'd think not but they've stayed together for the most part over the past 3 years in an era where lines don't typically stay together and coaches always overthink themselves and say let's spread the offense out and create two scoring threats

In a completely non shocking development, the Kings are trying to move on from Kovalchuk with just under 2 years left on his deal.
I can understand giving him a 1 year deal but 3 years looked bad from the get go for a 35 year old who was never a great skater.

Made more sense to pick up Vadim Shipachyov from Russia. He is the guy who Vegas signed then got upset when they send him down. He is younger and producing over there. Since he walked away from vegas deal I'm not sure when he could come back to NHL but possibly would want a better agent if he ever did.

LA Signed Kovalchuk hoping to avoid a rebuild, but it’s pretty clear they need one, they have a small core and it’s going up in age. They don’t have a lot of top young talent.

As we hit the quarter pole on the season, surprising to see so many pre-season Cup contenders struggling along on the outside of the playoffs looking in. The Leafs have gotten a lot of heat, and deservedly so, but the Sharks, Lightning and Predators have been as bad or worse. Their players, coaches, and management should be sending the Leafs organisation a big thank you card for keeping the glare off of their own shitty starts. Also a prime example of why a player would rather sign with one of these teams if given the chance - nowhere near the crap to deal with from fans and media if things go wrong.

Tampa Bay has only played 18 games thus far... pretty safe to assume they will get better and when they catch up in games played be back in a playoff spot its pretty ridiculous that somehow Washington has played 24 games while Tampa has only played 18

Cale Makar with his play so far has been amazing, early favourite to win the Calder trophy.

Cale Makar with his play so far has been amazing, early favourite to win the Calder trophy. early call but as of now easy one... nobody else even close... I guess if you had to name the top 3 right now it'd be Makar, Hughes (Quinn not Jack) and maybe Blackwood? course last year at this time Jordan Binnington was stopping AHL league pucks so
