It appears Desnoyers will represent Canada as an underager at the U18s in Finland. Busy summer for him as he will no doubt also represent Canada at the Hlinka tournament in August. Desnoyers is not on the opening roster for the tournament www.iihf.com/pdf/674/ihm6740can_33_1_0

Yikes. I really hope this season didn't stunt his development too much.

Yikes. I really hope this season didn't stunt his development too much. A ton of young junior players do that and end up very good players at 18-19-20. I think rather than 4th line they should have let him put up numbers in MAAA, not like he lit it up at 15. www.eliteprospects.com/player/733444/shawn-carrier

I spoke to some scouts last year and while we were talking prospects Carrier's name came up in the conversation and both told me the same thing : He finished top scorer for a team which played a defensive system and was bottom 5 in the league in number of goals scored. For what it's worth they also told me that the coach back then in Trois-Rivières liked to balance his line, so Carrier didn't play with the top guys on the team. Did you watch the Canada Games? He was the catalyst in his line (with Desnoyers and Guité). Carrier will step up big time next year I have no doubt about that. I think he only need what Lacroix didn't give him all year.

Hockey Canada must see a lot in Desnoyers to keep him up on the top line with McKenna as an underager in a semi final game..gotta be great for his development.
