Just watched the highlights of the game last night, but what was the main reason Chicago defeated the Leafs? Interesting stat: Chicago scored more goals than them. The Leafs really just got beat in transition too many times. The Leafs didn’t score on their chances and Chicago did, there was plenty of chances for the Leafs to take the lead when it was a tied game and they couldn’t find a way to score to take control.

When people are saying during game 1 that the look is already towards game 83 its going to be impossible to be up for every game against bottom feeders. This isn't something that just the Toronto Maple Leafs face...you'll find that many contenders will piss away 3-4 games against those types of teams. We happened to beat one of those teams after multiple 2 goal deficits on Wednesday night. The team with a recent #1 overall pick everyone is still waiting to see any promise out of. Any development. Any impact. You might know who this team is. They also have shitty goaltending.

You said you didn’t watch the game, I said that they got beat in transition too many times and couldn’t capitalize on their chances while Chicago did. There’s really not much more to it then that, were they supposed to go 82-0? Was Chicago supposed to go 0-82? I can’t see any conclusions you can draw from game 3 of the regular season. If the 5th least goals allowed last season is another season of shitty goaltending then I’m sure every fan and everyone in the organization would sign up for that. Even if that doesn’t tickle their fancy, I’m sure they’d rather be in the spot they’re in then some organizations that have no superstars, none likely on the way and a bunch of unmovable bad contracts.

Domi-Knies in 3rd may be developing chemistry but watch if Mr Switch Lines breaks them apart / Bertuzzi thus far not working too great with MM and is Detroit/Boston surprising anyone

Boston are still a very good team.......without Bergeron and Krejci They’re 5 games into the season and have played 1 good team so far. Let’s maybe see them play some actual good teams and more then 5 games before we go anointing Boston as a very good team.

Boston are still a very good team.......without Bergeron and Krejci Who said they weren't still very good? They're not the "best regular season team ever" without those 2, though. They're a very different team now without that C depth.

How about John Tavares?
So many just assumed he'd be an over the hill asset and a complete anchor in years 6 and 7 of his 7/77 deal.
And there he is with 10 points in 6 games and his best start to a season in his career.
The over reaction to how some players play in October reminds me of the first month of the MLB season when nobody is in any kind of proper form. And the reality is some guys are on the roster for what they bring in game 83 and not what they bring on a Tuesday in October.

Also returned almost a majority of a core that has been together now for a few years. In the cap era any team returning guys like Marchand and Pastrnak along with the same coach should have an easier time in October because there's not as much learning going on around systems. Its the grind of it all where they'll slowly notice a Bergeron not being there.

Boston are still a very good team.......without Bergeron and Krejci I'm not saying they will suck, but Even had they returned everybody, they are not matching last year's RS. Losing key vets will likely matter at some point, it's a long season. I think they will be a playoff team but pretty big drop in points from 22-23.

Pretty logical, made no sense to keep him 4th line at 19.
