We’re going to be down Liam Kilfoil for 2 weeks in November as he represents Canada Red at the World U17. Hopefully Crosby is back. He’s young but a crucial center for us, but good luck to him! Great opportunity. Good opportunity for Fontaine to step up and get some more ice time. Hasn't looked out of place at all but has pretty much been stuck centering the 4th line.

That’s very very true you have a good point there, and I figure they’ll give him the center ice time and keep Todd and MacPhee on the wing, worked very hard to get to this point, put on muscle and weight, would love to see what he’s got. Now I wonder if Welsh gets called up because doesn’t sound like Crosby will be back. Doubtful but maybe. Levesque | Vidicek | Dumais Peitzsche | Cataford | Fournier Ponzetto | Fontaine | MacPhee Todd | Moser

Welsh has been great in Jr.A in Truro with 11pts in 11GP and was just named to Team MHL South for the Eastern Canada Challenge in Trenton, Ontario from Nov 13-15 along with 3 teammates. x.com/trurobearcats/status/1715028395627626721?s=46&t=rRhcTyH0u6KK5VyMssGvFw

Looks like we’re ranked #2 in the country now… expectations getting high around the league. Wednesdays clash against Moncton should be fun.

So what is the holdup on not getting a 3rd OA yet? Crosby is hurt, kilfoil misses time next month and cataford might not be playing 100% yet. Are they not scouting from the rest of Canada (whl, ohl, FA etc.

Are they not scouting from the rest of Canada (whl, ohl, FA etc. My guess is holding on to whatever assets they have till they need them. Like I have been saying for a while Matt MacDonald who was just traded to BB from BC made a lot of sense. He didn’t go for much at all, a 5th round in 2025 is something Cam could have done with out a sweat. My guess is they want the younger big players to get ice time and then when the time is right make the move.

Cam had some options last season.....Michael Horth, who some have said wouldn’t be a top 20yr old, scotiahockey, scored his league leading 13th goal of the season tonight so far. He would have been a nice addition to the Moose last season......just don't think the Moose can afford him now...

We can be impressed with his start and pretend that teams can no longer afford him but we all know that isn’t true at the moment. If at game 36, he’s still playing like this then maybe you’re right but it isn’t right now. Now I’m sure most people would agree that 24% shooting percentage isn’t sustainable (you may not) but he needs to continue to do what he’s doing and not just be off to another hot start like last year before we go declaring him the second coming. I hope for the players sake, he’s taken that leap and leads the league in goals, earns himself a contract and plays in the NHL but we need to see more then 13 games of it before we start making these declarations.

Horth is having a great start to the season. Cant take that away from him. But he is league leading scorer right now primarily due to other guys sticking around their NHL camps a little or lot longer then he did. Shooting percentage will be tough to maintain. 3 of his goals came against Halifax preseason team as we were missing 5 studs to your full team. Luck of your draw. As mentioned above, lets see where Horth is at xmas. Hope for his sake, he keeps er goin.

He would have been a nice addition to the Moose last season......just don't think the Moose can afford him now... I think that the decision should lean toward selling players like Dumais and Furlong rather than overpaying for a Horth and many others. I really hope that I'm wrong. The team is slowly showing that they have many many holes and won't be able to win 4 series against much bigger and more mature teams. I can't see Cam buying what everyone is saying here...we miss 3 top six players including 2 20s, 1 strong defenseman and 1 backup goalie which is becoming a necessity. That would take minimum 4 1st round pick which we do not have. I would be willing to accept that for 2-3 more good years rather than tank next two years. Let Dumais beat all Moose records until Christmas and cash in after Christmas and let him go with a contending team for his last 5 months of Q hockey.

People are so quick to say sell and that the sky is falling because of loss to Moncton, with our backup goalie in nets. We still have a 20 spot open and possibly another if Fournier doesn’t stick around by Xmas , this top player in the Q and probably the top Goalie , and defence not to mention a great group of young talent , ie - Phillips , Peitzsche , levesque and kilfoil I don’t think it’s time to sell the farm just yet , we haven’t even had our full team on the ice after 13 games . With the right pieces added this can easily be a championship team .

If the Moose do sell Dumais and Furlong, does it make them a contender next season? You know Moncton will be much stronger as will Rimouski and Chictoumi Great point! Gives us plenty of assets for 2025 and beyond although next year we would be in tough. But I think we would be anyways, even if we ride it out with them. Dumais leaving would hurt for sure. Furlong I would be okay with. Our D-core is just that good(even after losing to Moncton ) Get some picks for Furlong and let’s keep going!!!

He had 28 goals last season..... how is that not even sniffing 30? It's almost as close to 30 as you can get without actually getting it now i agree with the rest of your post just think you were a bit harsh on the not sniffin 30 part of course his shooting percentage will not stay at its current level... but you can't take away the 14 goals he already has in his pocket and his pricetag is much higher with everyone he snipes problem is we cannot afford to move him unless some other bodies start producing some offense.... last night was hopefully a sign that some guys might start to heat up a bit but we will see

The hot starts are great but he just needs the consistency to continue that high level of play to command a great return.
