Surely our toughest opponent yet, confident that if the Eagles keep playing with the heaviness, finesse and get timely goaltending that we can hang with any team in the league. Should be a fun series, hopefully the Newcombe line stays hot.

This series will be no sweep, a Split in Baie-Comeau will be the key to this series. Coming home for 3 games tied 1-1 will be crucial.
Time for us to get back to getting in front of every shot and limiting scoring chances against Poirier, Gill and Bouliard Brothers will be so important.
I do believe we hold the edge in goaltending if we play the team defense we are capable of. Gravel will be tested heavily by our top 9 forwards.
Big positive for us is I feel that we will match them in size and physicality, something they won't be used to after playing Charlottetown and Bathurst in the first two rounds, but something we also took advantage of in our first two rounds as well.
Baie-Comeau also won't be missing a Top defenseman like our past opponents in Gill and Usureau.
I like Eagles in 6 with the 2-3-2 setup.

Good question, I'm just assuming due to the distances traveled but it could be different for the last rounds.

The teams play 2-2-1-1-1 in the semis / same as Hfx/Sher did last year.
Distance rule dies with 2nd round.

Steal 1 of those first 2 and 3 of the next 4 are here. Lots of time to rest up as well. This is going to be a great series.

The travel is through the air so much less of an impact on the players. 2 healthy teams will make for one hell of a series.

Hard to believe this is only the third time the Eagles make it this far (2002 and 2007 in the Pascal Vincent era being the others). Here's to the Eagles going over that big hump and making it to the next round. Your fans deserve it.

For how often you see runs like this happen unexpectedly you just have to enjoy the hell out of every moment while its happening. Could be another 25 or 17 or X amount of years before we see another scenario like this play out. 2002 and 2007 were supposed to happen. But we've never arrived a year early like this group has.

As for a prediction just have to keep riding the wave here. I think special teams and goaltending decide this one. Who steps up to be an unexpected hero on either side. Who gets a break in an OT game.
Gotta ride with the heart and imagine what a game 6 win on C200 ice would look like.
Eagles in 6.

I'm happy to see the Eagles doing well, at least till Sept when the Mooseheads are back; but the ride ends here BC is too good and has been 1 in the top 10 all season. BC in 7!

This will be a good series assuming Sherbrooke ends up losing their series (currently 3-1 Drum, so not looking good for the Phoenix).
Bathurst sold a lot at the trade period and managed to give the Drakkar a really good fight in the series. It'll be interesting to see how the Eagles can do.

Would have loved to see how both teams rosters would have looked over 68 games. They added some big pieces last June. Basically rolled through the league since game 1. We didn't find our stride until January when Newcombe was back with Romeo and Lavallee giving us a 3 line presence and Cibulka adding a dimension we lacked in the first half.
