Oh and on another note.. I really like the play of Famin. He looked a lot more comfortable out there than the exhibition game I seen him play in. He's got some good moves up his sleeve. He really has a Karsums feel to him. Finishes his shots around the net very well. He also showed incredible patients with the puck. Very nice addition.

Agreed, he looked quite a bit more dangerous than the last exhibition game. Seemed to be a but quicker on skates and better 1 on 1 moves. I hope he keeps looking better and better as time goes on.

I really liked MacAuslund's game tonight good thing we didn't cut him He didn't get an assist on the 2nd goal but he threw a check just outside the PEI blueline that allowed Brannon to pick up the puck and go in to score. Funny enough I was commenting on Brannon's lack of goal scoring ability just before he popped in two quick goals. Now obviously we're not going to score like all season but I do think we'll score more than last season just based on having dmen who can move the puck out of the zone quickly and make a good first pass. I was a little surprised to see Flynn put Gormley and Downe together but they did well and complement each other as Gormley is not afraid to jump up into the play and Downe is very solid positionally. One bright spot for PEI was their 1st round draft pick Ben Duffy. He's going to put up some big numbers in his Q career and will form a dangerous duo with Casavant in years to come. Southorn really showed we he deserves an A tonight by jawing with fans and laughing it up when his team is losing 8-2 Too bad for the instigator rule or someone would have pounded him after the elbow on Brown.

I can see alot more things like that elbow happening with the instigator rule in place. I know that there are heavy suspensions for cheap shots and 'intent to injure' penalties, but I can still see alot more "minor" cheap shots happening with little fear of retribution.

Who would have thought that Stephens would be the league leading scorer (tied with Samson Mahbod)?

I like their new helmets they look sharp and overall good game. Since someone commented on the helmets I'll make another comment that really has nothing to do with the game. I love the new center ice logo because it does not include that cheesy "WILDCATS" lettering anymore, you know the "i" dotted with a hockey puck and "L" as a hockey stick.

Liked Downe. Gormley still adjusting. He's not showing as the #1 overall that you drafted, however I see flashes of excellence. Let's see how he looks over the next few months. Downe is a pleasant surprise for the Cats.

Downe is a pleasant surprise for the Cats. I think the key with Gormley is to get adapted to what he can't and can't pull off at this level, he seems to make a lot of plays that he'd get away with in MAAA because of his physical tools.
