tough loss. Cats PP needs work. Mayer wins the battle. Yeah, your right 19%.....could be worse though PEI 13% There seemed to be a lack of shots taken. Near the end of the game we started shooting the puck more and even got some good scoring chances as a result. Seemed to be too much passing around, looking for that perfect shot for the most part though.

I have a question on todays game. Why was we playing 5 on 3 in overtime. I though that it was 4 on 4 and us having the penalties it was 4 on 3. The rule is that in overtime, if a team has 2 penalties, the play is 5-3 until the first stoppage in play after the expiration of the first penalty. Play then resumes as 4-3 (assuming the second penalty is still in effect).

It could have been all done with a goal on the 5 on 3. Does anyone know Roski's condition? He seemed to be hurt.

If everyone on the cats had showed up with the same intensity as Lessard I think it would have been a different outcome. They never really recovered from not scoring on the 5 minute major and 5 on 3 as discussed here in earlier posts. Mayers kick save on Eagles I think it was probably made all the difference Saint John needed but he made a couple of other really sharp saves as well. IMO the refs really decided the outcome at the end of the game making iffy calls and then missing the interference on Brannon which would have evened up the players at the end of the game.

Blaming the refs after losses is really getting old on these boards.

I don't think I've ever left the rink that frustrated. The reffing was horrible and ruined any sort of flow of the game. Our PP had soooo many chances, as Score said, a full five minute PP in the first (which I think is when we really blew it) and a full two minutes of five-on-three. We were lucky though to come out of that game with a point.. as I thought Saint John was by far the better team on the ice. We didn't come out hard. I have to agree with you, there was ref calling the penalties and an other jerk with the stripe jersey just skating around with blinds on. Were do they get these refs? I really agree with you Catsfan, I have never been so frustrated coming out of a game. And Grants choking the chicken gesture after the winning goal in center ice was not really appreaciated.

I was not too impressed with the Seadogs, I am not talking talent wise as they have the makings of a very talented team but, the way they play, all the checking from behind and that kneeing penalty, they are nothing more than a bunch of cheap shot players.

Cats were extremely lucky to get a point. I thought Riopel had another great game. I agree Lessard was probably one of best Cats out there tonight. Refs were horrible on both sides, game had no flow at all... Gotta love Beaulieu & Sparling at the end of the game, a great example for the younger players...

Pretty hot headed bunch. Take Grant when he felt there should have been a penalty. Guess he got his wish.

I completly agree.. it was really horrible.. and also way too obvious. The refs did notice a few of the checking from behind but let way too many go "unseen". It was just cheap shot after cheap shot.. and alot of thoses checking from behind/boardings could have easily past for intent to injure.. there was one on Matt Eagles (the one called actually.. i think the 5 min major) was just horrible, Eagles was lucky not to have gotten hurt on that one.

The 5 mins major was a kneeing penalty and wasn't Eagles, it was Pettersson..

Lane didn't make it past the middle of the 1st period. Boyle did an excellent job on Thomas in the 3rd. A little too late to start policing.
